Any Canadian bitcoin buyers or sellers try Virtex Exchange yet?
https://www.cavirtex.com/home

Seems his site is very very new, domain registered June 3/11. Anyone try this one yet? I'd be nice to have a simple automated service comparable to Mt.Gox for Canadians....

If there's any other services like this, for Canada (other than Nanimao gold) lemme know.

You can talk to the devs in #bitcoin-cad on the freenode IRC network.  Grady2000 is friendly and part of the project.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, for a while now.

I'm going to try depositing later this evening and see how it goes.

This is awesome, but slight problems, system let's you buy/withdraw up to $10k no ID however crappy Canadian law is max $1999 per transaction and you have to take ID

Also this site is not set up to prevent fraud. Places like carder.pro have 1200 TD bank logins for sale where anybody can sign in and send an Interac Email payment. 1hr later receive untraceable currency, a carders goldmine.

Another problem.. cash deposits he doesn't ask for a receipt scan. You can easily scam people on craigslist and other sites to go make a cash deposit and fund your BTC account.. make off with the funds (every LR site requests scans or fax of receipt to prevent auction fraud)

Yet another problem.. Moneymart doesn't allow 3rd party loads of cards I already tried :X .. instead there's nishecards and other cdn reloadable debit cards he can use which are more anonymous

Finallly... 1and1.com it's host doesn't do DDOS protection. Every currency site get's DOSd eventually by competitors.

So basically if the 15 F/T carder sites I know of with ~3200 members each of pro fraudsters get wind of this, they will be raping it like a boss

It's a good thing you mentioned all that stuff, then. Hopefully they can secure the site a bit more. I'm sure they're still working out all the details of what's required to operate a "legal" exchange in Canada.

Yeah, volume says 32 bit coins... Room to grow.... I hope they nail it down, would be absolutely great to have a painless service like this.

Not bad. Hope it catches on. I'd love to be able to use BTC to send funds back to my Canadian bank accounts without having to convert to USD first and pay wire fees.

Sent them $100 via direct deposit today. The money was online by the time I got home from the bank, which is impressive. I was also able to speak with the owner on the phone and he helped me through the whole process.

I made a few purchases. I quickly found out that orders only go through when you bid over the lowest ask price. You do, however, get the BTC at the lowest ask price. For some reason the system allows two orders at the same price and opposite sides of the market to co-exist. The owner told me they're working on this.

I haven't been able to withdraw the Bitcoins I purchased yet. That part of the system didn't work for me. I assume they're honest though and that'll just take time.

Update: I've been able to withdraw my Bitcoins (http://blockexplorer.com/tx/a3e450d0d8ba939b9eb1d31df7b8685e7808362eb00f21476b050a44b2d1c460#o1). Virtex is completely legit.

Yeah, was down for a bit last night.

I looked it up, 1and1 DOES do DDOS protection. .

At any rate, I got my payout email money transfer. He did take the 1.50 for the transfer but counts as a bank fee.

This looks really promising, but my bank does not yet support Interac epayments.  Is direct deposit dangerous?

This site works as advertised:

I used the service with Interac e-mail - money was deposited in 1.5 hours - website says 1 - 3 hours.   Smiley

Bitcoins purchased without a glitch.  Smiley

Trade volume definately seems light - hopefully this will pickup when more people join.

No transaction fees (for now) are really nice!  Smiley

I should clarify my question.  Would it be dangerous to input the required banking information to my virtex account for the purpose of withdrawing money from virtex to my bank?

Bit the bullet and made a small trade.  Works fine!  Withdrew the money no problem.

Now if only the people who praised the service had post counts in the double or triple digits.. :| I would love to use VirtEx but I'm not convinced.

I'd love to give this a shot, because it provides a more permanent solution for me. I'm with Tolkien though: not until someone else with good rep gives it a shot.
