I've read renting a VPS or server hosting isn't profitable because the CPUs and GPUs are weak. However, I think a lot of VPS/Server Hosts offer free trials.

Does anybody know of any that preferably don't charge/require credit card?

Hosting providers tend to kick you off the trial if you use a lot of CPU/GPU over a period of time.
