The markets are up but DASH keeps going down

More and more people are asking for instructions about how to sell DASH "locked" in masternodes

I got 3 master nodes and I need to withdraw the funds urgently, these are hosted by a third party and it is night time where they are. I spent some time looking how to do this, only one mention on dashtalk from 2014 says 'masternode stop' which I tried and does nothing. Very surprised the funds are locked, when originally setting it up I was told to be careful not to withdraw more than the master node account otherwise it will no longer work. Now I find it is locked, when I try to withdraw it says insufficient funds.

How do I unlock it or stop the nodes remotely??

As people on Bitcointalk become better educated about privacy the DASH trend seems to be to direct newcomers to dashtalk.org to so their pitch can remain as one sided as possible. There is clearly an inverse relationship between level of cryptographic education and faith in DASH privacy.

People continue to leave the DASH community.

As much as I hate to say it
I'm giving up on DASH
The crypto-community hates DASH and does nothing but kick it around and kick it down
Everybody is hung up on past actions....
I'm done....

Masternodes will be sold off and I won't be back...

Good luck all.............. You're gonna need it...

Is the stampede for the exits about to begin?

I am surprised Masternode sales did not start sooner.  Evan successfully was able to control supply and demand by removing millions of coins from circulation with the masternode system.

It is hard to understand why newcomers would accept that so much of the mining reward is given to masternode owners (largely controlled by those who instamined DASH in the first 24 hours). Once you realize that the "governance system" DASH brags about is easily controlled by those who conducted the instamine (thereby controlling huge numbers of coins, masternodes and votes) you can see why this has gone on for a long time.

Education takes times. The intstaminers will probably be the last to sell their masternodes as selling too many would cause them to lose control of the voting system.

Some sales are clearly happening, but not all Masternodes will be sold at once. The more than are sold, the higher the rewards for those that remain. This should slow the redemption process so long as DASH prices remain relatively stable and most users remain in denial about the level of Darksend privacy.

They might perceive it being better than a large portion going to criminals mining with botnets.

MN Numbers have been going up....BusterNutBag who sold his/her 1 MN is insignificant.

The other person wanted to unlock the PROFITS not take down the Masternode

Nice try with the FUD though....

Do you mean Dash can be mined by CPU botnets? I thought it can only be mined by graphics card efficiently.

If you do understand the con at work with Dash, you know that effectively more than 10 Million coins have been Instamined in a matter of hours.
The entity behind this fraud always has and always will control more then 50% of "Dash"
It is a compromised crap and evident by coinmarketcap drop from 4th to 7th that more and more acknowledged this fact.

Now that Shen has destroyed Shadowcash by de-anonymizing their entire blockchain, the market is wondering which coin with "bad crypto" is next in line for an Epic Pwn.

Dash is a prime candidate.  It uses a 'special' version of CoinJoin, which was unfavorably (to put it mildly) reviewed by GMAX, the inventor of CoinJoin.

Thus, Dash's market cap is and will continue leaking into Monero's, as the market rewards XMR's good (ie peer-reviewed) crypto and punishes Dash's bad (ie homegrown from a secret recipe) crypto.

Our friends are now saying DASH is going to kill people?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1379833.0

Apparently has issues with DASH marketing.....make what you will of what he said:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKd7F-10lxM&feature=youtu.be&t=1522

EDIT: oh, apparently the arrogant guy slurring on the video is fluffy.

fluffypony is not arrogant, he is correct. If you disagree then encourage your developer to be interviewed and attempt to prove him wrong.

I expect Evan will instead hide is his room embarrassed by the lack of respect he receives from participants of the Satoshi Roundtable

Cross-post from the other topic.  The intent is not to kick anyone while they are down.  It is to bring as many former Dash supporters into our fold as possible before the inevitable happens and the Dash currency collapses.

When a major bug was found in the SDC implementation, the Monero community opened their arms and doors to any from the Shadowcash camp that chose to come join us.  Math is not an opinion, and we are not here to compete for ego size.  Our ultimate goal is to unite the efforts of everyone under a solitary banner.

No former Dash supporters will be mocked or ridiculed when the time comes for them to switch over.  This is not some one-chance choice.  They got involved with Dash because they thought it was private digital cash.  Some may have been mislead, but there is a lot of talent in the Dash universe.  The Cryptonote universe, especially the Monero community welcomes these individuals whole-heartedly.

We are an honest and fair currency that aims to achieve what once was though to be impossible: truly private decentralized digital money.  I know the topic title here might ruffle some feathers, and I apologize on behalf of some of our eager colleagues.  But I think if you will stop thinking of us as competition, the choice will become quite clear:  There will come a time when every single Dash supporter has to defect to Monero, and those who do so soonest stand to benefit the most.  Fortunately the price has been held down significantly in the past 6 months... so consider this an early Christmas gift:  Monero now is under $1 USD and we welcome all talents and new members into the community.

If you were a former Dash supporter, you are that no longer.  You are one of us, entrenched in the Monero camp and smiling at the grand future that awaits.  You'll look back on this moment in the 2020's and thank yourself.

Welcome to our family.

DASH users,

Unfortunately the response below from toknormal is typical from DASH leadership. Here at Monero we don't run from difficult questions. Join our community and you will be be listened to. Monero welcomes you.

Name ONE well respected bitcoin developer who has vouched for DASH (with a source).

Monero has many and the list is growing:

I wish I valued "pats on the back" from the bitcoin devs as much as you do.

It'd sure be a whole lot cheaper for me  Wink

you are right, so sad.

How many anti- Dash thread was open by xmr comunity, 12 more?
So who fear who? This is the question guys.

My conclusion about all this:

Q:Two persons from DASH meet together, what did they talk about? ....
A:DASH.

Q:Two persons from Monero meet together, what did they talk about? ....
A:DASH!

I'm on the fence about dash.  I own some, not much, but I kinda like to hear the Dash skeptics speak.  I don't necessarily see this as FUD, just the cons part of pros & cons.

Is Dash actually used anywhere?  I know that's a whole different discussion.

Dash isn't used anywhere.

The typical Dash user is so stupid they think artificial demand created by Ponzi-style Masternodes is equivalent to external buying pressure from actual good and service provision.

Last month, the smart/hot money in Dash started smelling the smoke in the theater and began quietly but quickly tiptoeing towards the exit.

On the Dash thread somebody let the cat out of the bag about Polo lending rates offering better returns than Masternodes.

Even drooling DashHoles may be relied upon for their overweening greed, so expect MadoffNode liquidation to ensue.

The cherry on top?

Team DashHole is afraid to offer more than $1 in bug bounties, because they are obviously terrified of a Shen-vs-ShadowCash type Epic Pwn.

They've arrived at an absurd place, where the strange logic goes something like 'nobody will pen test Dash for $1; therefore it's perfectly safe.'

So the rewards for offering a chance to defect from a inferior product are already superior to cooperating and holding that product (offering Dash for lending).

As more and more people accept the loans to short, the rewards for defecting will grow exponentially - especially since fear of loss is more powerful than desire for gain.
