Help with openchrom/ xy file

Apart from the data openable with the various data import converters OpenChrom is capable to open and visualise any type of chromatographic data, if it is available as a text file consisting of a <tab>-separated two-column array.

Can anyone help explain the bolded part or rather make a example?

Gotta use "." instead of "," >.<
