Pepecoin
The launch did not go as we had planned it to. Unfortunately our source code was in a private status - not our intent, it was an oversight. This led to the windows wallet being the only available code and it seems a few people we able to solomine the hell out of it with no competition.
We will relaunch this coin within 24 hours, in a new thread. Same deal. We'll wait for a reputable pool and ensure our updated source code is publicly available when posting it.
The network will be coming down. The github source will be private for the time being. We will generate a new genesis block and wallet and we will raise the initial difficulty to counteract any instamine/solomine in the next release. What we need the community to do is delete all of your code and '%appdata%' associated with Pepe.
We will leave this thread open and link it in the new ANN to show what happened here. It is important to us that we are transparent with the community and do right by you all.

It is pretty late to do so imo. Many people rented rigs to mine this coin, also i don't think it was heavily instamined i joined at around 200 blocks after few minutes of the op. Imo relaunching will conduct to an even bigger inconvenience for those who invested in mining |

Fuck this don't relaunch. People invested here. Did it took you 2 hours to realize that the launch failed. The coin is very good as it is don't be stupid. You will loose many supporters, and reputation by scamming people with their rentings. I mined solo from block 30, true that mostly orphans but what's wrong with that, network nicely stabilized after that |

This is what happens when pools set their clocks ahead and hijack blockchains. No good can come of it. Support a relaunch so this coin can get a good community start. I looked at the code on this coin, looks solid and some decent innovation, could be the next doge  !!! |

We initially thought that it was an issue with forking because perhaps we didn't have the git set to public, as we were all scrambling and sharing information and trying to act quickly to resolve the issue, we discovered that the money supply output in the wallet was behaving erratically. We must repair this issue and relaunch. We're very sorry. We understand that some of you may have taken some losses on mining, but with the coin in it's current state it is flawed and must be relaunched.
UPDATE: We have now figured out that indeed, the blockchain was hijacked by one of the early pools. We will be making the modifications to resolve this and relaunching.

Well, I wasted about $14 renting rigs on this one. You know you are kinda past the point of no return here and you might as well keep the current chain? You are just going to piss off a lot of people with this move. People who won't be returning to mine and support the coin.
Announce your coin ahead of time, set a countdown, and secure some pools to be ready at launch if you are so damn worried about insta-mining.
