hello

I was using bitpay site for a couple years and auto sending all payments to my trader once a day
then WHMCS did a big update a few months back and Bitpay plugin got broken
started dealing in manual payments from then on
just got it back working the other day
at the same time I was setting up a new bitcoin account
or at-least I thought I was

I installed the "Bitcoin Core" it took the better part of 3 days to sync up
in the first day I saw I could click "receiving addresses" and see a BC account ID
I assumed that was a new one generated for me when I installed the "Bitcoin Core"
so I copied it and went to bitpay site put it in as a Settlement address
I got 58EU in BC payments that same day and expected them sent to my BC address that night
figured it would show up in "Bitcoin Core" when it finished syncing up
to be safe I backed up the wallet to my desktop
well it's finished syncing now and all I get is "no wallet has been loaded"
when I copy the wallet from desktop to the correct folder
C:\Users\Martin\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
and replace the other file  NOTHING CHANGES

when I check the Bitpay site it is now saying "Pending Settlement 0.000000"
so that 58EU has gone somewhere
there user to be a report of all Settlements that have been sent but I can't find that now either

so far this is a vary unsatisfying experiment
feel I have lost 58EU and still don't have my own BC address to trade from

What is the transaction ID of the bitcoin payment that you were sent? If it doesn't exist, then you weren't paid. Otherwise, this is probably just a syncing issue with bitcoin core.

It seems like some compatibility issue with the wallet.dat or something , after searching it seems like new version of Bitcoin core don't display that message anymore ? What Bitcoin core version are you using exactly ?
Also please give us your bitcoin address so we can tell you if you receive the funds or not .

https://blockchain.info/address/1HGsjeXg9eniyRWiqtU81MgaE5j7NUautT  It seems like you ahve received 0.02 BTC today on that address.
There is no such a thing called version "5.5.0" , the most stable and updated version of Bitcoin core is 0.11.2 , unless you are using another wallet and not Bitcoin Core . https://bitcoin.org/en/download

You should have the latest version of bitcoin core. What you are looking at is about Qt, the GUI library that bitcoin core used. There should be something about bitcoin core in the help menu, not about Qt.

It's not that , you should go to Help => About Bitcoin Core , and you will get something like this (and tell us version mentioned there) :

Can you provide the Debug log? Just go to Help > Debug Window and select the option for the Debug log then post all of the contents here. Nothing private will be shared.

The client name is the name of the wallet software, which for Bitcoin Core and its predecessors, has always been Satoshi.

here is the debug log  LONG
way to long had to shorten it
Well you didn't grab the part that was useful. Try uploading the whole thing to http://pastebin.com/ and post the link to that.

https://www.giga-rdp.ca/BC-debug.txt

This is your problem:
Code:
2016-02-22 12:49:37 Wallet disabled!
2016-02-22 12:49:37 Unsetting NODE_NETWORK on prune mode
2016-02-22 12:49:37 init message: Pruning blockstore...
You have pruning enabled, yes? With 0.11.2, the wallet is automatically disabled when pruning is enabled. You can either upgrade to 0.12.0 or disable pruning and download the entire blockchain.

If you choose to upgrade to 0.12.0, you can either wait for the official release which should be in a day or two or you can download a binary that I have built and uploaded here: https://github.com/achow101/bitcoin/releases/tag/v0.12.0. If you choose to download my binaries, make sure you check the checksums against those in https://github.com/bitcoin/gitian.sigs and verify the signatures on the checksum files.

If your wallet is empty and you haven't used any of the addresses yet, then upgrading to 0.12.0 won't require a rescan, but if you have used it, then you will need to rescan the blockchain which will also require downloading the whole thing again, it just won't store it on the disk.

hmmmm
http://prntscr.com/a6rpcn
so either way to have it here I got to re download the hole thing again

the one I have loading on my server is now only 4 days behind so nearly finished and I have not used the prune thing on it cause I have lots of space there
ill wait for it to finish then just copy the dat file over to it
likely only 8EU there anyway but im still hoping that other 50 will turn up in this account

what can I use for a lighter copy of my BC account on my home computer ?

For a lightweight wallet, I recommend that you use Electrum. If you want the extra security of a full node, you can actually set up your server with Bitcoin Core on it as an Electrum server and then make your Electrum wallet at home connect to it by default instead of trusting someone else's electrum server.

Running an Electrum server requires another software. That is here: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum-server and instructions for installation are here: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum-server/blob/master/INSTALL
