...

I heard comments today about UK Prime Minister Cameron's latest proposal for staying in the EU, the idea is in peril there.  Boris Johnson, the Marxist mayor of London wants OUT (as do many others).  Britain has a much larger economy that Greece, and of course is much more integrated into Europe as a whole.

http://www.moneyandmarkets.com/forget-grexit-brexit-europes-latest-threat-76161?t=ezine#.Vsv_o_krLcu

I am not really knowledgeable about Britain and Europe -- it SEEMS like an important relationship, and were Britain to leave that would likely create a LOT of stress and other problems.

The UK Pound fell today...

The Brexit is very unlikely. The British are generally not in favor of changing the status quo. So I assume that most of the people who give out their opinion as "Undecided" in the opinion poll will vote against Brexit during the referendum. However, if the Brexit actually occurs, then it will negatively affect the EU in a big way.

What you say is true but most of the Brits don't care aboute Europe: they drive on the left side, they have sterlings instead of euro and so on.
If they are out that's Europe's problems not theirs.

Because it would be a smart thing to change the traditional side you drive on based on joining a union? That is something completely unrelated.

Also, they are not the only country in the EU that held their own currency in favor of the euro.

If they go out it is for sure a big problem for Europe, but also for the Brits. Imagine the impact on their economy. No more easy traveling there for EU citizins. No more tax free shipping, etc. It would severly impact their export and tourism and they can't handle that.

Everyone I speak to wants out of Europe, me included.

Why would you want to stay, look at the data -

Plus as a bonus we are getting uncontrolled immigration putting excessive strain on the NHS, Benefits and education system.  Too many takers and not enough contributors.

This argument is true for most of the Western European nations, including Germany, France, Netherlands, and Belgium. The European Union is an uneasy alliance of the rich Western European nations and the backward Eastern European nations. There is a delicate equilibrium between the two group of nations. But this equilibrium will be lost if one of the richer nations cancel the EU membership.

Another opportunity for traders to make money out of volatility.
In the end, I don't think status quo is going to change. There is no pressing need for Britain to exit the EU.

Guys please don't make the mistake and mix Europe with the EU!!
If the Brexit happens the UK will be out of the European Union. That would be fine to me as this contruct is a big mess and only serves the Elites.
The EEC worked pretty well and that is what we europeans should go back to.
The EU is turning more and more into a socialist dictatorship!

Yeah cause it's really hard to show your passport at passport control.....Huh i know when i go on holiday to europe its the non-EU control desks that have very little people at them.  Bonus  Cheesy

Tax free shipping???

Impact tourism and export???  have you any idea how much Europe relies on brits for their exports? (its alot, i'll name one, French wine is drank by the bucket load in Britain these days)  and regards tourism there is practically hundreds of villages and towns around the European Mediterranean that will be wiped of the map if Brits dont show up for their holidays

This euro thing is a two way street, the euro elite dont hold all the cards..... Thankfully or like Greece we wouldn't be allowed to leave

Everything was going well before Germany decided to enlarge the EEC by accepting the former Warsaw Pact nations such as Poland and Romania. The parasite nations are putting too much strain on the Western European nations. And the current migrant influx from the Middle East is further straining the resources. European Union, in the current format is beneficial only for its easternmost members.

Let's face it. If UK will leave European Union it will be the end. UK was one of the pillars of original EU pact. Core country, along with France and Germany.
Brits leaving UE will only mean than UE failed and it is time to let it go for every other EU member.

When the crunch comes both countries, Britain and Greece, will leave the EU this year. This would be a disaster beyond all expectations and very likely the end of the EU and the Euro zone.

Man the EU is an investment on the future, and it's the same for every single one of its members.
If you lose that of sight, of course it appears meaningless, and of course you'll feel like paying more than you get. Come on that's an investment.

Mostly i would think this would threaten Germany and the people who are basically "in charge" of the EU. The EU does not help Britain at all.

It is not a problem of the eastern European countries. They helped to increase the growth rate for the EU27 over the last years after the financial crisis. The problem is more the southern European countries like Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and somewhat France.

Ahah! You're wrong about immigration being uncontrolled.

It's if you leave the EU that you'll get that, then France will have absolutely no obligation to keep migrants inside its borders Wink

I think no country wants to leave the European Union. They may threaten with it like Greece did, but at the end of the day when the citizens are asked if they have the balls to pull an euro-exit they always back up, because they know they would not be as cool if they are not from Europe. Most people would not like to be a country somewhere that has nothing to do with USA or Europe.

Anyway bring it on tho, anything that destabilizes fiat currencies will help Bitcoin.

Right from the beginning, the Southern nations were acting like laggards. They were receiving more than the amount which they were donating to the EU. However, once the Eastern members were admitted, all these southern nations were forced to become donors. None of them could successfully complete the transformation, and as a result we are having financial meltdowns in many of these nations.

Not a huge problem for the UK, we are an island after all.

Just have the navy sink a few boats smuggling people across to send a message, problem solved.
