I have a theory that a group of core developers from the United States and early miners want to regulate Bitcoin with their government simply to safely cash out. This would essentially make them millonaires, and in a legal way. Selling out the libertarian idea of bitcoin for peaceful retirement for a few people, this is their hidden agenda, and they will realize it by manipulation, deception, bribery, controlling the key resources like this forum, and cooperating with all kinds of government agencies that contact them.
Discuss.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

That's actually not a conspiracy theory. One of the core developers - Jeff Garzik stated that he will cooperate fully with the government on this CBSNews interview:

There's no way to "sell" Bitcoin to any government. They're just acting friendly so that the hammer doesn't come down on them.
