Disclaimer: I am not the developer of this coin, nor in any relation with it's creators or founders. This OP is posted for a bounty offered by developer team in the Services section. For the airdrop or bounties please contact: cygnus.dev

From the very beginning, Cygnus was developed, created and designed with the vision
of what should a cryptocurrency optimally provide to it's miners, traders, users and the overall
community. Our conclusion is that the key points are decentralization, egalitarian distribution,
network stability, ease of access and use. Following this path we created Cygnus and the POW/POS hybrid
block generation method was selected for blockchain security and stability.
Besides the technical development our main purpose is to orientate the whole distribution and
development process towards community. We would like to keep the crowd up to date and give
them the opportunity to contribute and influence the pathway which Cygnus will follow in the
future, therefore now we are launching pretty much a basic blockchain, to distribute initially the
coins, further development phases will be decided in our monthly consensus polls. The consensus
polls will begin at the 1st of every month having a 3 week submission phase and a 1 week voting
phase. The first consensus poll will start at 1st March 2016.
Taking these facts in consideration, we planned the reward structure to be fair for everyone. This
means that, we set up the Proof-of-Work block rewards in such a way that don’t disadvantages
or advantages any miner. We achieved this by setting up high reward blocks, which aims the early
miners, early POOL miners and even the latecomers.
To create a totally egalitarian distribution structure we will give the chance to people, who don’t
possess any high-end GPUs or any other mining equipment, to get involved in our project. For these
users we prepared an airdrop/giveaway and numerous bounties which will help to get more people
involved in Cygnus.

  • First Consensus Poll

From now we are accepting proposals for our first consensus poll, you can submit them here.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1elhnm-RwM1-p56s7Jc08W-oATyRJ97BU63_7Ds_26Bg/viewform

The first submission phase started on 1st of March, 2016. This will last until 23rd of March, when the 3 most requested topics will be listed for voting.

Once a successful launch occurred, and we are assured that the PoW system works without any problem, our first IMPORTANT checkpoint will be the first Consensus Poll. As we've mentioned before, every poll will have a 3 week long submission phase  which will be followed by a 1 week voting period.
During the submission phase users will be able to submit their proposals for 3 different categories. The first category will be for Technical Development questions. Here will come all the topics which may be related with Cygnus technical development and adding or changing key features. The second category will cover all the PR related topics, such as ease of communication, user friendly interface, targeting new markets, etc. The third topic will cover all the suggestions for poll which are not covered in the two categories enumerated before.
For each poll there will be selected the 3 most requested topics, one for each category. Once the final questions are selected, the voting period will start. At each Poll there will be multiple choices. Consensus means majority wins disregarding the number of voting options. Once a voting period ends, and we have the final results, the chosen options will be implemented in Cygnus Roadmap, and a new poll submission phase will start.
For the first poll we will release a wallet update which will have the Poll tab, you will be able to cast your votes there. Votes for the first poll will not be cast on blockchain yet, we scheduled to implement -on blockchain- voting for the April poll.

As we've highlighted before, we would like to reward all the miners who enter in different phases. We've created multiple  "Super-Block" phases. These phases offer high reward blocks for early miners, early pool miners and even for latecomers.  The target block-time is 60 seconds, and 40 blocks are required for maturization.

You can see the Proof-of-Work reward structure below :

  • Block 01 - 2.137.320 CYG
  • Block 02 - 500 - 2000 CYG
  • Block 501 - 1500 - 500 CYG
  • Block 1501 - 3000 - 2000 CYG
  • Block 3001 - 5000 - 1000 CYG
  • Block 5001 - 7500 - 500 CYG
  • Block 7501 - 8000 - 2000 CYG
  • Block 8001 - 10.000 - 1000 CYG
  • Block 10.001 - 15.000 - 500 CYG
  • Block 15.001 - 15.250 - 2000 CYG
  • Block 15.251 - 20.250 - 1000 CYG
  • Block 20.251 - 25.250 - 500 CYG
  • Block 25.251 - 35.251 - 250 CYG

The Proof-of-Work phase will end at block 35.250, until then approximately 25.885.320** CYG will be mined. After this. users will be able to grow their CYG holdings by Staking. The Proof-of-Stake phase will start simultaneously with Block 1 of the PoW phase. The minimum stake age is 180 minutes while the maximum age is 30 days.

**Some of the POW blocks will be "stealed" by the POS blocks that's why it is unable to retrieve the final and exact number of POW rewards

The first block of the PoW phase, will have a reward of 2.137.320 CYG, which is approximately 8.25% of the approximate total supply. This ~8.25% premine will be divided in 2 parts. The first part, 949.920 CYG ( 44.444% of the premine, ~3.66% of the total supply), will be offered for different bounties.

One of our main goals is to make the distribution of Cygnus as fair as possible. This is the idea behind our decision to set a premine of ~8.25%. As we've mentioned earlier ~44% of the premine (949.920 CYG ) was redirected for bounties and rewards.  The second part of the premine( approx. 4.58% of the total supply, 55.556% of the premine), 1.187.400 CYG will be distributed free between bitcointalk.org users. This fund will be held in an Airdrop wallet and equally distributed between the users who submitted a valid request, and was accepted after verification. A total of 1000 users will be accepted for the airdrop, which means that, every accepted user will get 1187.4 CYG.

Airdrop wallet - 5jVPijawjM8YUEYGyk1n5n1sKQsfDkdLFj

The Airdrop period will last for 2 weeks. In this 2 week period we will continuously verify the requests. Users who would like to take part in the distribution must send a PM to cygnus.dev user with the following content :

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

First of all we would like to thank zsnorbi for posting the ANN. He will be editing the OP until cygnus.dev will be able to post images.
Earlier today we posted a topic in Service Announcements thread and zsnorbi was the first who contacted us and lately we agreed on all the terms. You can find more information about his bounty under bounties tab.
We have to state clearly that, he don't have any relation with the project developement or with us, beside the bounty

Everything looks nice expect for the quoted part. There are a shitton of active sockpuppet accounts on this forum and you intend to reward them and reinforce the behavior of having multiple accounts. I disagree with that even if you intend to do an activity check. Plenty of suckpuppet accounts are active because of other promotions like signiature campaigns.

Other than that it really does look nice because the premine is accounted for. In a perfect world I'd like the PoW algorithm to be a more creative, non-Asic one but that might just be me.

Either way, I'm mining this and good luck.

Virustotal is never, ever 100% reliable. Hacking tools can be hidden so it's strongly advised to run all your wallets either in a Virtual Machine, or in a restricted Sandbox or on a machine with a throwaway OS where viruses can't cause you any trouble.

I have the wallet running in a Sandbox where it only has read access to 2 folders, read access to the windows folder and some other folders and everything else is restricted (can't even read it). This way malicious wallets trying to grab wallet.dat files or browser cookies won't or anything like that are not able to do so and they usually just end up crashing.

As we mentioned in the Disclaimer part, we will carefully check all the requests. If even a small suspicion will come up we will ask for further verification. Also we have 2 weeks until the end of the Airdrop phase. During these 2 weeks we are gladly accepting suggestions from the users on this problem.
