WoW that video is cool tHe development of this robot have take ages. It's going so fast with the technology if they can create this now then what will we see the next few years. Don't think we can imagine what will be next.

Ever used a microwave to cook something in one minute?
Why do you not prepare your meal from scratch (wheat, pluck the chicken, milk the cow, etc.)?
Are you saying that the microwave turning our cooking time from a half day to one minute has not allowed people to do more with their lives?
Look at 100 years ago...all of those carriage manufacturers and horse breeders and horse shit shovelers who lost their jobs because of the automobile (that was mainly reserved for the rich).
Now practically everyone has a car that has more intelligence than the rocket that took men to the moon.
What do you not have right now that cheap manufacturing could give you?
DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE IMAGINATIONS?
Most people don´t equate their own brain with automobiles, vending machines and such, so yes they have imagination enough to realize that now the competition from machines is going to be about jobs that require a brain. That is a whole new ballgame. We've had computers that compete with human brains for decades. It's only made us more productive and created more jobs. All right, you make no distinction between your own brain and and a vacuum cleaner. That is eminently clear. Good bye.

Manufacturing jobs gone to the robots, service jobs will go to them in the next 20-30 years at most. Which jobs will then be left for humans? Please don´t mention the plow and the industrial revolution, it´s not applicable, this is something very new, capable to take over SERVICE jobs.

If every job can be done by robots....will we even need jobs? Every need will be taken care of. The lifestyle of today's rich will be the lifestyle of the poorest human. And the richest human will be otherworldly.

I think some people need to read up on something called artificial intelligence. Without that they´ll never understand how robots will take over service jobs in the not too distant future.

In fact they´ll take over most of what humans are capable of doing. What will then be left for humans to do for bread winning purposes?

More and more, companies are choosing to use robots to increase productivity while cutting costs. Unlike silly humans, robots can trek massive warehouses without tiring, track crucial sales data over time, and even speak multiple languages. Bots like these could signal the future of service work. In fact, the International Federation of Robotics estimates over 400 robots will serve as guides in supermarkets, stores, or museums by 2017. As noted by The Wall Street Journal, businesses are now just starting to put bots in stores (though they're now more advanced, they've been in warehouses for more than a decade). Automation technology has significantly improved in recent years — making the bots faster, smaller, and more affordable than ever before. Check out seven of companies automating traditionally human labor — from robot lettuce farmers to robot butlers. The future is now. http://www.techinsider.io/companies-that-use-robots-instead-of-humans-2016-2

There will be the cheap jobs that can be done by a human cheaper than a robot. There will be creativity (unfortunately that requires imagination so some people will lose out on that one). Unless robots can mimic humans completely people will want human companionship/interaction. Not every robot will be able to fix every robot. There will be crew required for the spaceships who can breed and start new colonies.

Type artificial intelligence and robots in the address line then hit a key called enter. It may be called return, it works the same.

robots can help us a lot, but I think it will be our destruction
to this day we are the most intelligent creatures and if someone create something smarter than us surely have problems

The term human may evolve to include all of the upgrades we gain.
With more intelligence in the world more things will be answered. Why are we here, parallel universes, time travel, etc.
More intelligence is a benefit, not a hindrance. No matter how hard our leaders are working to stifle intelligent thought.

Im verry happy about the situation.
In the future this will reduce the number of stupid people by a significant amount.
And with the free and abundant ressources mankind can start to do important things like space colonisation.
@galdur Dont just read the first links your google search shows you. That is not a good method of researching.

The only real reason why AI would kill us is either we pose a danger to it or we are fighting for ressources. Both is rather unlikely for me.

I count that under danger but i think when times comes then a simbiotic life with ai is more likely. I.e. an AI avatar for every human etc. We will be so advanced that we will just choose the most efficient way to live. Edit Btw i dont believe we will have AI in 20-30 years. We neither understand conciousness nor the human brain yet. ( we are right now just able to simulate 1s of 1% of the human brains neural network in 40 mins)
