http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250687/

Storyline from IMDB:
Donald P. Sinclair has placed six separate gold coins in different slot machines in his casino.
The lucky six who find these coins discover an opportunity of a lifetime.
The chance to own $2 million.
Locked up in a locker in New Mexico, these six contestants must now race each other, to be the first to the cash.
There are no rules in place and everything that could possibly happen, does.

An awesome premise for a game, so how do we implement it with bitcoin?

Easy, with a time locked address. It would work like this:

  1. The Game Master will generate a time locked address using https://coinb.in/#newTimeLocked

  2. An initial deposit will be sent to the time locked address.

  3. Anyone who wishes to play will send at least an amount equal to the initial deposit to the address.
The player will be sent the private key to the address, enabling them to claim the funds after
      the time lock has expired.

  4. When the time lock has expired, everyone with the private key has a fair chance to claim the prize,
as long as they are the fastest in submitting the transaction!

Please share your thoughts and questions below, then if there is interest, we will select a time lock date!

I dont really understand what you are saying. Is it like some kind of lottery? Or speed game like your thread said it is not fair enough because someone who near the server will sure be the one who will win the match because 0.1 sec delay will sure lose. And how do we play it? Please give more detail

Whomever is able to get the actual bitcoin network to accept their transmission of the transaction wins.
Everyone has a copy of the transaction, and to win you need to be the first to broadcast it when the
time lock is expired.

I'm not entirely privy on all of the technical details but, something like a mining pool or a large pool of nodes
would have the best chance to win.

I was even thinking it could be a game that mining pools actually play against each other.
Each pool donates mining fees towards the time locked address every time they mine a block.

At first I thought you were going to say the contestants would have to race to a physical location to scan a private key of something. I think that's a lot more interesting.

The way you are describing it, it sounds like everyone would basically have an equal chance of being the first to send the transaction. There is no skill involved. Why not just hold a raffle?

It is only good for a movie. Doing a race like this IRL would be dangerous and people would be desperate to win breaking laws to get ahead ams driving , cycling or flying dangerously and taking risks. If you could make a virtual world to do this in that would be great and much safer.
