First time I hear about this Wipplex wallet, be careful.
Are you the author, is it open source?

I would never trust any of my cryptocurrencies inside of an exchange.  Grin

If you want your money to be stored securely, put it inside of a personal wallet. Plain and simple.

Is there any wallet for XRP now? I don't want to send my personal documents to gatehub.net. I am looking for something without that.

Great question. A wallet without KYC that is currently supported

GateHub is too invasive

Verifying Who You Are.

GateHub will do everything we can to respect and protect the privacy of our customers. However, we are required to first verify who you are, and make sure you are not using the Site for illegal transactions, or terror financing.

For the purpose of verification we will collect the following kinds of identity documents from you:

Photo ID – Drivers License, National Identity Card or International Passport.
Proof of address – Utility bill, bank statement (Issued within last three months).
After this "verification" by GateHub (which many customers say is much like a identity colonoscopy), our customers will be able to trade currencies using their own Ripple wallets natively on the Ripple network.

But I don't find a single one (desktop)  that I can trust. e.g., backed by Ripple maybe.

Ripple desktop wallet was developped by Ripple but is no longer maintained.
https://github.com/ripple/ripple-client-desktop

The gateway Rippex forked it, a lot of people use it including me.

Do you know anything about the Ripple Desktop Wallet? It seems to function well but is it supported? Is this the old Ripple Wallet?

yes it is the old official ripple wallet, as I said it's no longer maintained, Rippex forked it and keep it updated:

and btw you don't need any of that if you just store XRP on Gatehub.

What do you mean by that? I can buy Ripple on Poloniex, transfer it to Gatehub and transfer it back after one year without account veryfication?

Managed to access my old ripple balance from when I was mining for ripples way back when.. I only did it for a few days and managed $125 worth of ripple by today's price. Should have kept that thing running for a few months or more. Oh well.

I had my secret key saved in an encrypted text file.. as long as you got that you're good.

Hi Guys,

just installed this wipplex, sent ripples to it
the transaction was made, no XRP whatsoever in my account
transaction ID 6D9208929DC4A223EE9659F2E678DD4764464789EAB026501CBE90A4DF87709F

so I dont know who made the mistake, I sent bitcoins to exchange for ripples at https://changelly.com/
it says the money was sent, when we check in the chain after this transaction, shows something
however when searching for my wallet number, says account not found
wallet: rhqtJ3vrv8Bs3jz5SKwE41AQUfQtMSSnY7

seems I lost 10 xrps to somebody, glad its cheap

cheers

You need to send at least 21 XRP (20 XRP + transaction cost) to activate a wallet.

"This transaction failed with a status code of tecNO_DST_INSUF_XRP, and validated in ledger 29608742 on May 8, 2017 9:33 AM."

Also as I wrote in a previous post, I've never heard of this "wipplex" wallet before so be careful.

If you want a trusted wallet you can use the wallet from the gateway Rippex:
https://rippex.net/carteira-ripple.php#/
