First, I am not a part of FTPbox team, just like this opensource project a lot.

It is somehow "DropBox-Like" service, but you make "the cloud" yourself using SFTP / FTP protocol. There's even a web interface available. The project is still in beta, but full program will also feature Windows, Linux and OSX client software, file encryption, handling of multiple accounts, selective sync options and more.

And now the best part. I wanted to donate, but there was only paypal donation button. So i emailed them and asked if Bitcoin donation is possible and they said: "NO PROBLEM!"
They also added the bitcoin address to their website.

Show these guys some love! : )

(BTC address is in the bottom right corner.)

Nice.
Looks like a very interesting project, i'm very wary of these 'free' cloud services.

its free because you have to make your own cloud. you provide the storage and bandwidth.

Yeah, that is really cool. Could use little plug computers all over the place. A lot more secure.

I wonder how their project could be meshed with Retroshare.

Great, I've been wanting to host my own dropbox for a while, I think this is the program that will allow me to do that.

Looks like a great project, maybe something like BoxCryptor would work until they have added encryption. Will definitivly have to keep an eye on this one!

Thanks TheKoziTwo for pointing to BoxCryptor. It is a great solution until FTPbox has its own encryption integrated.
