I agree, 10 bitcoins is actually a lot. And I had one tenth of that recently and like an idiot got scammed out of a good third of it. I tell ya, I should have known better. Alas, I'll get it back.
Don't know about being a pioneer though. The early miners are the real pioneers, and that guy who bought the pizza for 10K btc.
This. Early miners and those that joined maybe 2-3 years ago or so can be called pioneers. People that mined on their cpu's and gpu's hundrets of bitcoin a day, those are pioneers. As to loosing coins to scamers thats another form of pioneering:) learn on your own mistakes and worn others, help fight hoax's and fraud's can be seen as pioneerish.

I am a dedicated Bitcoin holder and it shows as I have cold wallets where the oldest coins aren't moved for more than 2.5 years. It feels good to hold Bitcoin as it may turn out to be the best decision/investment of my life. I am happily looking forward to what Bitcoin brings for me. I aim for having 50BTC in offline storage before the end of 2017.

If you hold 10 or more you are part of an elite.
This is my conclusion after the years I have been involved here. Absolutely no one in real life knows what the hell Bitcoin is, and even your most geeky friends may probably never heard about Bitcoin. Now if you take into account the people that has heard about it... what percentage own 1 BTC? Exactly.. you know almost no one. And what percentage own 10 BTC? I personally know no one (people from this forum don't count obviously).
This simple observation shows you only need 1 BTC to be a pioneer on Bitcoin in 2016.
Very nicely put, I agree. I'm not holdind 1 BTC yet but in the end of the Summer 2016 I hope I will have one. Also living in a big city I don't know anyone who own 10 BTC. A friend of mine has several Bitocins because he used to mine more than a year recently but he never have had 10 BTC I know that for sure.

Yeah its difficult for anyone to hold that big amount, as I have earned more then 1 btc for sure, but I have never had 1 whole btc in wallet to just keep it safe for future, as I keep on spending.

10 btc is 4.5k at today value, why it should be considered alot when anyone with an average salary of $1k can do it in 4 months?
50 maybe is a lot or 100+, not certainly 10
in your country you can get $1000/month from your salary, but in my country the salary is very low, only $100-$200/month , to reach $4,5k (10btc value) i need arround 2year , i think 1btc is enough to be pioner. it would be interest to know how many poor people there are here, actually, that have joined bitcoin because they need money desperately, based on their country also

I think 1 btc is not too huge to hold, and 1 btc cannot make you pioneer, I think you should have more number of bitcoins then you can feel like the king of the world.

I am multi pioneer I don't think it is hard to hold that amount of bitcoin. We all see this from different perspectives. An IT professional in the SF Bay area can become a "multi-elite" BTC member with a single paycheck. People in developing (formerly known as Third World) countries are less likely to have it so easy. I know I'm not a Pioneer when I can buy a miner, have it delivered within 2-3 days max and then have it set up and churning @ >4 TH/s in 15 minutes or less.

Honestly is just my hobby to collect and use it to trade i don't spend it for nothing...

I think you are right, for our grandchildren and future generations we will be looked upon as pioneers for sure, any of us involved in bitcoin in the first ten years of it's inception. I just need to accumulate ten bitcons or more. I once had over 20 but had t use that to move country so now I am down to less than one. I am now trying hard to change that. Aim is to try to make 12 bitcoins or more each year from now on.

That's what I like about the sig campaigns. There could be guys making similar money to full time jobs in their home countries. That shows the potential power of this thing. Indeed. That is one of the wonderful benefits of the Signature Campaigns, that they allow almost anyone to participate. That is very beneficial to those in countries who have a bad economy. The BTC that they receive actually matters. Bravo to those who sponsor the Campaigns.

I think nowadays the competition has begun because in past i have seen many people selling out their bitcoin for their local currency but now people have started saving it and its gonna be tough to predict anything.

We have absolutely no idea how bitcoin will scale in the future. All all speculation are based on the short bitcoin history - where indeed we had huge leap of value. From literally $0 to $1000 in four years - we all now live with expectation that we could see similar patter in the future, but this time bitcoin will reach $10000.
Lets hope this will happen

It's too late for accumulating 100 BTC as nearly no one can afford to buy that many Bitcoins, unless you have a decent amount of savings where you can use a part of it for investing in Bitcoin. The majority of the people can't even accumulate 10 BTC in total.
