Japanese immigrating to other countries? A few of them immigrate to the United States and other countries such as Australia, Taiwan and Singapore every year. But the numbers are not significant. The vast majority of them are happy in their home nation. Yes... it is a small country with one of the highest population densities in the world. But still, I wouldn't call Japan crowded.

It's normal and expected. Their living standard is very high, medical care is excellent and families don't have many children. Also, there are no so many immigrants. It's the same for West European countries, even East Europe as well. From this perspective, maybe great refugees crisis and many people who came to Europe last year, is not to bad news. After all, if not enough young workers in the future, from where will come funds for new pensions?

I was under the impression that there were plenty of foreigners living there but their status is tied to work. That being the case they're not going to count for a census.

There are not many foreign workers in Japan, at least when compared to the US and the EU. Foreign workers are around 0.4% of the total Japanese population. In addition to these people, there are around 1 million people with Korean citizenship (both South Korean and North Korean), but most of these people were born and brought up in Japan. The Japanese government refuses to provide them with the citizenship.

^^^^ Elwar, the Japanese population pyramid is not much different from that in Germany or Italy. The only difference is that Japan has achieved a birth rate of 1.41 children per woman without any immigrants, and Germany has achieved almost the same rate (1.43 children per woman) with a lot of contribution from the migrants.

Yep, many western nations have a similar pyramid.

the main problem is the high cost of living expenses make people think twice to marry and have children.and the countries panic because retired people don't' work full time and pay income taxes to the government.

Admit it. The earth is not capable of sustaining a human population of 7,125 million in the long term. A drastic reduction in the population is needed, for our own long-term survival. the main problem is the high cost of living expenses make people think twice to marry and have children.and the countries panic because retired people don't' work full time and pay income taxes to the government.
In Japan, this issue is amplified, due to the extremely high life expectancy. An average Japanese lives up to 83 years of age, and this puts an enormous strain on the government in the form of pension payments and medical care.

the japs will build robots work for them instead of bring in black/muslim immigrants, they aren't stupid like europeans and americans

Be radical, have principles, be absolute, be that which the bourgeoisie calls an extremist: give yourself without counting or calculating, don't accept what they call ‘the reality of life' and act in such a way that you won't be accepted by that kind of ‘life', never abandon the principle of struggle.

America isn't doing badly. As long as immigration is tied to requirements and you make it easy for skilled people to immigrate, I think you should be okay.

Already robots do a lot of work in the Japanese factories and assembling plants, especially those manufacturing the automobiles and the heavy machines. But unfortunately, robots can't be employed in crucial sectors such as medical care and banking. Perhaps increasing the retirement age to 65 or 68 might be a good idea.

I seems that this could happen to many countries in the future. The earth cannot continue to support a growing population. At some point there won't be enough resources to go around.

Come on. Not the "earth cannot support people" thing again. Also it's interesting how Japan doesn't have terrorist attacks as other countries. Maybe because they don't encourage immigrants.

It's not that they don't encourage immigrants, it's that they for the most part do proper background checks on them and make sure they don't bring in morons who are just looking to cheat the system and they don't do the hand wringing and the whole "We didn't want to be accused of being racist" crap it's just called being pragmatic. You don't import people from a war zone en masse without doing any background checks or making sure they aren't out to kill people without thinking about this which is what western politicians have outright refused to do. This is what people who run around screaming "Racist neo-nazi's!" don't realise, these are not normal people, they're not coming from stable countries, even these economic migrants who have been coming in come from very dodgy places so to act as if it's somehow discrimniating against them to check if they aren't going to try and kill or rape us is fucking insulting on their part alone.

In my opinion, the earth can sustain 2 billion people at the most. However, the current population is more than 7 billion, and it is growing at a rapid pace thanks to contributions from the South Asia, Middle-east and Africa. Population in East Asia, North America, Australia, and Europe is either stable or declining, while that of Latin America is slowing down. It is outright lunacy in countries such as Egypt and Bangladesh, to encourage the population growth. They have one of the highest population densities in this planet. For example, around 3% of Egypt's land is not desert, and this region is having a population density of 2,800 people per sq.km. Bangladesh is having a population density of 1,250 people per sq.km. Still the politicians in these countries encourage population growth!
