Are you using your loan from Gamma Bitcoin Fund to pay back people?  If so, that is immoral.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I still think you are an ass Cheesy

Old habits die hard, but I have come to grips with the need for a new attitude in my life. It may take some time, but it is part of the many things I want to accomplish this year.

I wasn't aware your shareholders made the bet. To discuss a settlement (which cannot realistically be 750 BTC unfortunately), please PM. Thanks.
They were heavily invested in Pirate and lost out pretty badly from what I recall, even the ones that didn't realise it. Not sure to what extent usagi was relying on his bet with you though.

By the way, my address from the original thread is still valid.

Thank you makomk. If you could respond to my message I would like to discuss with how to make things right. I've learned from some people that the reason they didn't respond was that they didn't take the message seriously. I just wanted to reiterate that I have the most serious intentions with this and I am only looking to make things right.

Don't think there's anything to discuss. You have my address, you know the bet amount, you know that you'd have demanded that amount in full if you'd won as you expected. In case you've forgotten:

After poking my wallet a bit, I'd like to increase my previous bet to:

20 BTC

Still not entirely sure what Matthew's point is with all this, but I suspect it may not work out the way he's hoping it to.
Accepted.

Unfortunately, what you're asking me to do is treat you differently than everyone else who has already agreed to a settlement. If you'd like it be paid, I'm afraid it will require at least minimal communication. Thank you for understanding and I apologize if it seems as if I'm making it more difficult than it needs to be. This comes from direct advice of theymos and several others.

@MNW

I forfeit my bet. No need to pay me, because I didn't really believe it was completely serious.

Some may choose to remember me for that, but I'll be making it very hard for them to.

My bet was for 1500 BTC from early on when you appeared serious about the bet. My username on IRC was bitbotbut. Here is a screenshot:

Click on the pic to enlarge on hosting site. Sorry it's not better quality. How do you propose to settle this debt Matthew?

I also have our IRC logs to prove it was me.

I wasn't involved in the bet but you sound like a complete attention-whoring jackass. Since I highly doubt that you can or will pay off the full amount of the bet, here's a proposal for how you can supplement the remainder with non-monetary compensation:

- Find a couple of bums and have a friend take a video of these bums beating you black and blue with their fists and feet. Make sure your shirt is off so we can see the bruises form.

- Post the video

To the people owed money: do you feel that this would help?
