Hi all,
I'm trying to get an overview of the bitcoin market. It seems, most companies are privately owned.
Anybody knows, if there are also companies that are publically listed one of the major stock exchanges?
best,
-zm

I would also like to know about some public listed companies. I have invested in private ones, one didn't work but another one I am in gives me monthly decent dividends so it would be nice to know about the bigger companies if there are any, although bitcoin startups are a good place to start I believe.

I wouldn't invest in any bitcoin companie. It's way too early for that. Bitcoin is your investment. That should be more than enough risk imo.

But it is better than just holding coin to sell high in future. Even some 5-10% return per month in the form of coin will be nice place to invest. But till now i can't find many such oppurtunities other than investing in bankroll of gambling sites.

Isn't there one Australian company that's available on stock markets? I can't remember what it was doing now but it was a first. Going on how quick all these guys are burning through their cash and failing I don't think any of them are gonna be the buy of the century.

Bitcoin was people's initiative. It is only natural that everything bitcoin related is privately owned. Are you trying to get idea of every company which accepts bitcoin as their optional payment? Or are you interested in companies which are focused on bitcoin as their primary point of interest (exchanges, wallets, mining companies)?

Who says you have to invest bitcoin? Most will probably want cold hard cash. I think most companies will be looking for angel investors who can pour in a lot of millions rather than the casual investor, but I do agree I would rather just keep my bitcoins and an investment rather than risk them in something else.

Forget about them, better just buy BTC directly if you want to invest. Stocks are always a headache, and easily manipulated.

Hi RealBitcoin, investing in Bitcoin is a different type of business. Bitcoin itself does not create any value or return, you can just speculate on its future price. I would like to invest in a company, with potential to grow with the market. Maybe also in pre-IPO companies, but they may be more difficult to find. best, -zm

Based on what I can see, unless you can get an early buy-in for a company through some means, that is the only way to currently invest in any Bitcoin companies right now, to my knowledge.
Most Bitcoin companies are not publicly owned, as you can see, and thus there are very few ways to invest.
In the meantime, however, be careful with what you aim to invest in. Most things that seem too good to be true really are too good to be true on this board.

the past events teach us that a big part of this so-called "bitcoin companies" that asked users to invest they did not do a good ending, and many users have lost money, i agree whit you tha bitcoin is yet an investment and it's good

Look at BITBOND or BTCJAM for example, you can invest in people getting loans, and you earn interest in it.
