stop re-broadcasting it and it'll be dropped by the network and returned to your wallet after all node stopped re-broadcasting it (should take one to three days.). core automatically re-broadcast your unconfirmed transactions so you'll need to get rid of them first by running core with -zapwallettxes command (or just enter it from the console.).

Yes. If you still want Bitcoin Core open, then you need to start it with the option -zapwallettxes. Also you should upgrade to the latest Bitcoin Core 0.12.0 because 0.8.6-beta is old outdated software.

yes it's possibile... there are some sites that now accept at least 1 confirmation, before issue a payment or for example "rolling a dice" ...
anyone could scam, send a tx with low fees and then re broadcasting because it's not in a block Wink for a while Cheesy

do this. or if you're using windows just create a shortcut, click properties, and add the command after the target directory (e.g "C:\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -zapwallettxes)

Your wallet should always be backed up regardless.

Not with blockchain.info no, but they return your coins to you after 3 days IIRC.

Alternatively you would have to export the private key into a different wallet (e.g. electrum).

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

From your first post it looks like you are using a very old version of core (or qt as it was called back then). You should update to the latest version.

#1 create a backup of your wallet.dat (just in case)
#2 close core
#3 get the latest version https://bitcoin.org/en/download
#4 install it (just over the current version)
#5 start core to see if your balance is in order and everything else is correct. If there is some error, let us know.

if no error on #5
#6 close core
#7 start core with -zapwallettxes to remove the unconfirmed transaction. Since I have no Mac I cant give you a step by step, but you need to open the terminal and start
Bitcoin-cli -zapwalletxes
this may require the full path.
#8 let core rescan the blockchain for the TX that are already confirmed.
#9 wait at least 24 hours to create a new TX to avoid further issues.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.
