Hi,

Why Bitcoin transactions are so slow to get confirmed today?

Look at this transaction, made a few hours ago and always not confirmed...
https://blockchain.info/en/tx/187906c4e3bf8530204f9675492cc3fcbde50c7213f53a484ac661b38bff7d3b

Can you tell me why is it so slow?

Because you only paid a .0001 miner fee. Use .0002 or if you are in a hurry .0005.

Hi,

Why Bitcoin transactions are so slow to get confirmed today?

because the mempool is flooded with unconfirmed transactions. call it a traffic jam, and the ones with higher tx fees can get through faster.  Tongue

to know how much fee per byte are best for the current traffic condition, use this site.

Your right companies like those do cover the fees but if they haven't adjusted their own fee structures then your transaction will still be slow.
Better just to use blockchain or Mycelium and set a decent fee yourself, something like 0.0005 should be fine.

Until we get a block size increase you should play it safe and use a .0005 fee.

Because a lot of transaction are submitted currently and only one with higher fees are being confirmed. If you want fast confirmation then you should submit transaction with minimum fees of 0.0002btc and for over 1KB transaction use 0.0002 per KB.currently around ~30,000 transaction are waiting for confirmation https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions
it will solved when block size will increased.
