Another useless thread. Doesn't matter all the wannabe suggestions ,they're not going to get implemented anyway.I would simply call him a bitcoin enthusiast if he has 1000 bitcoins. In simply terms ,just a millionaire ,nothing special about it.

i think the special thing about it is to see there are still individuals that believe in bitcoin enough to invest  430,000 USD give or take in bitcoin.

i think 100,000 would be enough to designate someone a bitcoin baron.

10k or 1,000 is something you could acquire pretty easily with some fiat and/or a gov auction.

calling someone a whale that holds many coins but does not trade seems like a misnomer to me.

I'll call him the millionaire, it is a lot of money, because if someone has 1000BTC, he was able to say a millionaire, I hope one day I had more money than it  Grin

I would call them clever, rich or just plain lucky depending on how they amassed that amount of bitcoin.

I love the Bitcoin thousandaire. However, I think that bit-thousandaire is more appropriated and more beautiful.

I think we should call him the luckiest person on the earth to hold that high volume of bitcoins, but practically I don't think any one of us would be holding that big amount in future.

Someone with a million dollars, euros, pounds or pesos is a millionaire. No one (Okay maybe Satoshi) has a million Bitcoins and probably never will.

So what's someone with BTC1000 called? A thousandaire? There's got to be a better name. 'Bitcoin Whale' is just so meaningless and some people don't consider BTC1000 a whale anyways.

What should we call a Bitcoin thousandaire?
I think bitcoinaire would be good term for anyone who has 1 million dollar worth of bitcoin. But unlike a person with millions dollar,a person with that much bitcoins would hardly accept that in public so whatever you call him doesn't matter

You would either call them very rich, or just an early investor/miner. If they bought that amount of bitcoin, they are probably a millionaire.

I don't think you could designate individuals with a 1000 bitcoin with a specific term. As with currency, there are millionaires and billionaires. I don't think you can specifically label an individual with ten, hundred, or a thousand bitcoins a term. I would just refer to them as an individual with 1000 bitcoins.

I would probably just ask them what they prefer to be called, say if his name is William he might like to be called Bill or Billy. I don't know what having a certain amount of anything has to do with what they are called.

You call such a person a 42.9% millionaire. Since such a person is almost halfway on being a millionaire.
But yes he is very very rich. I wish i could hold such an amount sometime.

^ I have no idea what that means but boy I laughed... maybe thats the point. Smiley

1000 btc = 1000 btc. Nothing more, nothing less. All these posts attaching it to some exchange rate is ridiculous.

Why call someone with 1000btc rich??  If he exchanges today to fiat he may get ~US$400k. Not exactly rich, but it's ok. If he holds and exchange rate drops, then definitely not rich anymore.

At the moment it's another investment option alongside precious stones, precious metals, art, antiques, real estate, shares and so on. Just because someone throws fiat into bitcoin, doesn't mean they believe in bitcoin - they could just be diversifying.

Anyone who holds bitcoins = a bitcoiner. No matter the amount.
