Depends on the basis that you're using. 1.000 BTC is 1.000.000 mBTC and 1.000.000.000 bits. So the guy is either a millionaire in mBTC or a billionaire in bits. End of subject.
That post made my day Well.. how should you call someone with 1000 btc? How do you call someone with 100 kg of gold ? Just someone who has gold worth X Million dollar. Nothing special. I think if you compare it with others that is the problem. 1000 BTC = $400k usd there is nothing special with people who have the money $400k because there are many rich people in the world. but I'm not sure there are many people who DARE to take risks by holding 1000 BTC in their wallets. its amazing you know ? It is very special. I don't need to know the data to know that people holding $400k in the world are a small elite compared to the entire planet earth population. Most people have barely any savings, and a lot of people aren't even banked. People that want to spend 400k on Bitcoin... even harder to find. This is what I'm trying to say! It's a huge deal to have BTC1000+, so to come up with a name seems like a no-brainer. Who cares if they're a fiat millionaire? Any real bitcoiner won't be switching to fiat anyways.

At present one with such a large amount of bitcoin can be named as a large scale bitcoin trader. Because only through trading he could have earned it.

For me it depends on what method that someone used to get the 1000BTC, example: If someone got 1000BTC in trading, gambling or just someone mistakenly transfer the BTC, then we can call that someone... LUCKY If someone got 1000BTC in working or mining, then we call that someone... HARDWORKER
lol I'm not sure people can get much of a bitcoin in trading, mining, etc which probably is a gamble but still it was quite difficult. how do you call someone who bought in 1000 bitcoin by fiat? is it they take the risk?

I think a person with 1000 bitcoins should be known as chiliadare. Literal meaning of chiliad is a group of thousand things. And of course he should be known as a rich person.

No this is not true! Ever heard of an early adopter?? These guys hold thousands of bitcoins or tens of thousands of bitcoins. During that time, around 2010 and 2011, when that boys had realized what potential Bitcoin has the only thing they did was accumulating by buying at price of some cents or a few dollars or they just mined via PC and GPU, FPGA later.

Someone with a million dollars, euros, pounds or pesos is a millionaire. No one (Okay maybe Satoshi) has a million Bitcoins and probably never will.
So what's someone with BTC1000 called? A thousandaire? There's got to be a better name. 'Bitcoin Whale' is just so meaningless and some people don't consider BTC1000 a whale anyways.
What should we call a Bitcoin thousandaire?
Update: We should come up with a name for someone with a thousand Bitcoins. Why, you ask? We need to stop converting Bitcoins to fiat and vice versa. Treat it as a currency or a vessel to hold your wealth. Saying someone with 1000 Bitcoins is 'someone with $400,000USD' will be pointless at some point in our lifetimes.
Let's come up with a name so we stop comparing Bitcoins to fiat. You wouldn't tell someone with 10M pesos that because they're worth less than dollars they aren't a millionaire based on American dollars. You also wouldn't compare USD to gold anytime someone brought up how much a house costs.
Me: "Hey Bill. I'm buying the big house at the top of the hill for $1,000,000" Bill: "Oh so like 25kg of gold?"
That's just ludicrous. No one compares different currencies or vessels of wealth as much as Bitcoiners. Let's stop it by coming up with basic terms.
Maybe i should call the owner of 1000BTC with master of crypto currency, they should be have great skill and knowledge about crypto currency world, and i have a dream to be one of 1000BTC owner, and i will make business related with bitcoin,it will amazing experience in my life.

As he has been a part of a growing currency nothing specific is required. Rich is enough as we won't mention people with high amount of local currency with some other name.

I think 1000 BTC now has not been considered a rich man. it was only worth about $400k. many people who have that much money. but I will respect when they dared to withstand that much bitcoin
