Most of these deaths are as a result of painkiller overdose. That is why I support the legalization of marijuana. Marijuana was banned in the United States, mainly to help the pharma giants who rake in hundreds of billions of USD every year from the sale of painkillers. Marijuana is the best and least risky form of painkiller available.

the problem is the drug war, period If people were not forced into using the most powerful because they can't even have a little weed to relax or take the edge off, we may have less of this. Legalize all drugs now, and spend the money saved on real education about drugs, and programs to help people quit / and or manage their problems.

According to these statistic numbers, the US should spend more effort and power on fighting drugs abuse rather than fighting terrorism outside America. As it cause the biggest bomber of death yearly.

Nomater what, there is no stopping these people. The best help we can give them is professional help. Doing something rash like limiting drugs all together can cause even more problems.

If marijuana became legal, medical revenues would drop like 80% over night.

The whole thing is about profit, but not in the ways that we usually think. Any way that more money can be borrowed from the Federal Reserve Bank helps to keep the debt-money Ponzi going. Medical drugs helps to do this through insurance loans. It's a long sory. The longer we keep the banking Ponzi going, the longer we have peace, but the worse the crash will be when it comes.

Like here in Canada the Pharmacies want to be the one that offer it in the behind the counter drug section. Most likely they will start tinkering with it enough to create addictive properties, never a good thing. One aspect is they will most likely get rid of the mold issue that is often connected to pot and make sure its not dirty.

So your point is what? That people are stupid and are abusing drugs without thinking? Or maybe it has something to do with God?

Legal drugs dont kill more people than illegal drugs do. It is the crimes happening around illegal drugs, which make them worse than legal drugs. The police has a lot more work to do, dangerous work.
If you vote for legalizing drugs, in order to get away from the abuse of painkillers, which are legal, you are not able to count the many numbers of abuse, because ppl start thinking drugs are harmless anyway. why else should they be able to buy them. You would certainly get the same numbers as for pain killers. It is knowledge and experience, which have to be part of using any drugs.

46.000 on a population of 322.267.564 is high. (0.01%) Legal drugs dont kill more people than illegal drugs do. It is the crimes happening around illegal drugs, which make them worse than legal drugs. The police has a lot more work to do, dangerous work.
Can you prove this with numbers?

It's not because people are misusing the drugs. It's because the drugs are "poison", Big Pharma is poisoning all you people that insist on using their toxic poisons.

I don't know how many of these painkillers are toxic. But for sure, a lot many of them are extremely addictive, and millions of United States residents suffer from addiction to these drugs. Just see the list of most popular painkillers: Oxycodone, Buprenorphine, Hydromorphone, Dextropropoxyphene.etc. All of them causes severe withdrawal symptoms.

I'd like to know whether in the stats for approved drug deaths it also takes into account the legally prescribed vs illegally obtained ratio. Certain drugs do fulfill a purpose but many a person chooses to discard that in search of fun/oblivion.
