Starting a file sharing site like dropbox

Looking to start a file sharing site like dropbox. need investors
we will need:
promotion of the site
marketers
web designers/developers

project cost : BTC16.9

How did you guys come up with 16.9BTC cost for this project? Care to elaborate? I'm feeling the same atmosphere here (Newbie with ridiculous needed investment and on top of that with nothing to lose). No one will fund you that (any) sort of amount for that project of yours. A site like that won't cost more than 1BTC IMO and what your saying is way above the normal range.

well a year ago I phoned this company up and I asked him how much it would cost to make a site like dropbox
he told me it was 10,000 gbp so thats why I said around this price range

Just for hosting data it will cost his ..then you have other cost like website + dedicated sever to this this website and other developer cost you have not mention this cost ..and you said investor ..what benefit will investor will get ??

higher priority to faster downloads and ability to become moderators for the site (it will be paid) so if a file is violating the tos
it will be taken down by moderators.

software: owncloud (free)
server: OVH Dedicated around $60 a month
advertising (dont do but simple and low cost works)

aiming for something tje size of dropbox is stupid. iv seen many many cloud compaines fall on there ass because they aim to high

There already good cloud service available it will be hard to compete with them. You have to come with a business model or you can't pay back the investments. The question now, are people willing to pay for yet another service. I should think twice before you start with such project can be a big waste of time.

Dropbox got its seed funding from Y Combinator, go ask those guys so they can laugh at your "I need money and everything else to do yet another cloud storage service".
