I think most of the charging stations are free of charge if you mean the Tesla cars. I am not sure about the electric cars of other brands. Gas station owners may install such charging stations to earn profit.

And when You make a accident with the Airbag open, there is no more "free charge" at Tesla station, until they give You a new attestation, they even will not sell to You repair parts. This is a exeptional company, i still be surprised, by people, who buy this product.

For $100.000. You can buy some 10 of 3-years Nissan LEAF, or 3 New.

nice thought, I was also thinking to implement bitcoin payment system in the parking and refueling, it will be easier for some people who really busy for pay with cash, and can pay with bitcoin whenever he wants.

I've already suggested the idea several times at trade fairs and various electric mobility events, but the people I've talked to were not much interested. There are some start-ups out there, but the companies who supply the electricity are big fish, with little interest towards unproven electronic currencies. They all favor the subscription model, by direct debit.

Well its a fresh new market but sure in the meantime this project should work,the future will involve bitcoin sooner or late .Its amazing someone starting to offer the charging station the option to pay with bitcoin .

Here in Nepal even we don't have enough electricity for total nation so this type of electric vehicle is hard to see over here other than some electric powered riskshaw which is very high in number in lots of cities here. I think giving them charging facility will be good option, but how those riskshaw drivers will learn complexity of bitcoin.

 I've seen a lot of these charging stations listed as free. For example-- in store parking lots, huge parking garages, etc. I think it depends on where you live?

I fully expect that in the future my car will sense that it needs a charge then go take of it without me. Next time I get in the car will let me know that it's bitcoin wallet is getting low. With bitcoin machines can transact and there is no need for me to be involved.

If we all have electric cars, we'll need a charging dock at home.

If we all have a solar charging garage like that ^ in our front yard, then we can all pay each other in Bitcoin to recharge at each other's houses.  We'll never need a public charging station as long as we can find a neighborhood.

Maybe they'll finance the solar panels together with the car, so we can all afford them.

I think they make it more complicated than need be. The first time you charge they require you to call in. You tell them the credit card you are going to use, and the type of vehicle you have. Then you are on record each time you swipe your card, even though it is only for $1 or two.

To use bitcoin for these transactions would not help their big brother system. That being said, I would really want to use bitcoin for this.

Hard to find one such power station. When entire people accept Bitcoin we can see such electric charge points over most of the cities which accepts Bitcoin.

I can see this trend catching on in the future, but first we need to be able to ditch the cars that use gas completely and migrate to a completely electricity-based transportation system, or at least reserve it for semi trucks and other large-scale vehicles.

This can be realized via fusion energy, most likely anyways, and we'll have a far easier time allowing for electric cars to be powered.

This is good news, though. I hope more franchises start doing this in the future.

The world has moved toward <Clean energy> and away from fossil fuel and the Oil companies are now seeing that with the low fuel prices. They have manipulated the supply for years and soon they will be disrupted by the alternative energies like electricity. The problem is, <Clean> energy is expensive and infrastructure to facilitate this has to be built. The electric cars is also prohibitively expensive and the battery replacement is inevitable and also expensive.

One day, we will charge our cars at home, with the electricity we generate ourselves and this will also be part of our remuneration package at work, to charge your vehicle.
