This block size debate is killing BTC's reputation and it is opening the floodgates for competition. Who will take BTC seriously when no one can come to consensus on an issue that is about to make the network unusable!

BTC will never be anything but a niche product for nerds if something so obvious cannot be agreed on.

In the meantime, watch the price die as people are sick of this nonsense. It was fun while it lasted but there are plenty of other projects that have real balls to make real change. We all believed in the BTC dream, although we didn't think this nightmare would become reality - BTC is not scalable.

OP, you are absolutely correct. Blockstream is owned by an outright scammer (Austin Hill). And furthermore they are engaging in numerous deceptive tactics, they have control over both this forum and r/bitcoin.

Not looking good, but we are all still in this for the long haul. If an altcoin emerges that overtakes bitcoin, we will all know who is at fault. Blockstream's reputation will be ruined for all time.

well, we all want to see bitcoin improve. so sometimes changes are necessary. and the block size debate needs to come to and end with a conclusion soon.
but all of these doesn't mean that a change must happen over night, increasing block size is not without its own problems there are some valid arguments on both sides of the debate.

and as for the competition, a lot of others (other altcoins and altcoin supprters) claimed that this .... is going to be a replacement for bitcoin, and a lot like that but looking back none of them survived more than six months (1 year tops) and followed hundreds of other altcoin down a dying path.
