I'm getting curious about alt currencies. I think im going to purchase some litecoins    just in case.

Is the litecoin community growing very fast? What can you do with litecoins right now?

I doubt I will spend them but just kind of wait and see.

Thanks for any info.

Litecoins are an emerging crypto-currency, I would stay with Bitcoin until it becomes more used. Also, Btc-E has a pretty high transaction fee, I would try somewhere else. If you try to transfer ฿0.01 it will cost you  ฿0.001... Check out blockchain.info and buy from someone else.

Shit U crazy!  Tongue
BTC-e has the lowest exchange fees around. Their fee is half of the average fee on Gox, and still less than the lowest possible fee on Gox. AFAIK, MtGox is the only exchange that doesn't charge to withdraw coins, and the .01 fee at BTC-e is pretty standard no matter where you withdraw from.

Yes, BTC-e's withdrawal fee is pretty reasonable. I think it's 0,01 in any currency you draw, so also 0,01 LTC, which is less than peanuts. Just minimize total number of withdrawals - it's an exchange, not a personal wallet - and try to avoid withdrawals smaller than about BTC0,50, say, and it's all good.

Nope.

Sell them to someone else for a greater profit.

i have a question about btc-e.

I know if you withdraw there is a fee.

Is there a fee for buying or selling?  It would be fun to day trade a little bit and make a couple pennies here and there but if theres a fee it would make doing that rather difficult.

yes, that's where they make their profit.

the withdrawal fees are basically forwarded to miners.
