I think I found one of the largest Bitcoin addresses and the second largest. I'm probably wrong but it doesn't hurt anyone with me posting them here. 1st Largest I found: https://blockchain.info/address/19iVyH1qUxgywY8LJSbpV4VavjZmyuEyxV Over 5,264,776 BTC ($2.1 billion) received in total. 2nd Largest I found: https://blockchain.info/address/3KgtbGgaX2ngstNpvyv7LwpHSweVeqGbpM Over 4,139,869 BTC ($1.6 billion) received in total. I think these are the largest total Bitcoin received addresses. The 1st has received a third of all Bitcoins in circulation. The 2nd has received just under a third of all Bitcoins in circulation. Post your thoughts below and the ones you think have received the most Bitcoins in total.

My bad, also the link you linked, the two I found have more BTC received in total than almost all of them. The amount received doesn't have much to do with the richest person. It could be a mixer address that has a lot of transactions run through it to jumble things up, or some sort of service that uses cold storage for anything above a relatively small amount. Could also be a change address for somebody that makes a lot of small transactions with a large balance, though that wouldn't make too much sense.

I would have expected Gox to have the most turnover of any wallet ever. I wouldn't call them the biggest wallet though, they don't contain nearly 10million bitcoins, otherwise people would rightly complain that bitcoin was too centralized! (whereas they complain anyway, but it isn't as true.)

You can become the first by sending 10 BTC back and forth with ~100-500 sats everytime and voila you spent 0.5 and broke a record, or get a script to do it for you. Not that hard if you actually want to do it
Or even better do it with 20 BTC and you spend half the above mentioned amount in fees
PS, It'll take a huge amount of time though

If anyone is talking about bitcoin's level of centralization, they're talking about mining.

Not sure if lucky these addresses are most likely from exchanges or, from a very early gambling site, or large mining pools. i am quite sure that drugs dealers only use their bitcoin addresses once.

If I send 1000 bitcoins 1 000 000 times from one addresses to another and back again, I will end up with a lot less Bitcoins, but a huge transacted amount. { 100 000 000 } So that does not reflect how much Bitcoins I have, just what the total of all the combined transactions were. { Miners fees will kill much of the original 1000 Bitcoins }

Isnt that the two brothers owning about one third of all BTC? I do remember reading some short article about them. They are very likely to be the owner of this address and its wallet.

This is something that can scare you if belong to one or more users in agreement. They can move price how they like and this can be worse than centralized control by banks. What do you think? But this address belongs to an BTC exchange.
