Ashley Revell, 32, had sold everything he had – his house, his car and even his clothes.  He placed all the money on Red at a Roulette table in the Plaza Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, aaaaand..........

that's just too dumb, i mean you're not healthy if you risk all your life, everything that you have, on chance to win more, i mean i and probably everyone wouldn't do that, even if chances would be 60% to win 50% to lose, still big no

No I would never do this, I think its to risky to put all your money on something that in most cases will fail.
Also if you are alone its maybe more possible but if you got a family it would be really crazy if you would do this.

No I would never do this, there are just too many things that can go wrong.
You are gambling on one number the win rating is just too small in my eyes.

I don't think so. Haha! There are many things in play when it comes to gambling. The risk is too high. I have a kid to raise so haha! I don't think I will resort to this much. I mean that's everything you got in your life. Thanks but no thanks.

No, I really would not be willing to leave it all in the hands of a roulette, but this man is really a crazy compulsive gambler. Grin

A part of me thinks this was done for publicity and maybe the guy was somehow involved with the casino and was promised that he wouldn't lose.

But I would never go "All In" on roulette, Poker maybe but not with my life savings.

that is exactly what i was thinking too.
i didn't say anything buy i had a feeling that this might even be some sort of advertisement for the casino. because anybody who does this is a brain-dead-addict or fake.

More like, would you have the stupidity to do this?  I've never seen anything like that.  I sure hope I would never do anything that stupid.  Lucky for him it turned out the way it did, but it could have been really bad.

wow, this was very interesting.

my mind is blown. i don't know what to call that person, someone with big balls or small brain.
i consider myself a risk taker but even i would never do such a thing. it is never a good idea to go all in unless you are already working with the casino in secret.

This is possible. I really don't think anyone in the right mind would risk everything in a casino in a single go. You can say it is a YOLO bet but still, losing everything and be a beggar if luck went against you is something that is pure stupidity. IMO. In a sense, if this is an advertisement for the casino, they are a win win. Casino gets exposure and the guy earns a lot of money.

you have to be so stupid to do this.
i don't care what the outcome of his bet was, it is not wise to do such a thing. the risk is too high and in case of losing you will lose everything, become homeless.

my legs are trembling just thinking about doing this.

from the article:

"All the interviews and documentaries that surrounded his bet guaranteed he earned good money – he would have won big even if he lost!  A smart publicity stunt?  Or a crazy and irresponsible Roulette story?"  Grin

Must be the later.
He should be on drugs. No one in the right mind would do such unless of course he's lying because i do think he is. This is too bullshit to be real.

that was pretty stupid, not only because he gambled all he had, but because the gains he made are just really poor compared to the amount of risk he took. He returned home with 272k and bet 136k, he just doubled his money. If he put that on Bitcoin he could easily win a ton more since we area bout to go beyond doubling our money, and it's not all or nothing, you can always cut loses if you pussy out during a dip.

If the guy made money from publicity that's another thing than just gambling. That's why I wouldn't recommend anybody to follow his steps. He most likely was in win/win situation but if you do it yourself you won't be.

That's the Australian dude from years ago, right? I don't really see why he'd have to sell his clothes too. For dramatic effect? It's not as if the few extra dollars that gives you are going to make a difference. But if you lose, you'll still need clothes. Same as if you win: you have to instantly start shopping for clothes instead of doing nice things*.

I would not dare to do this, it just sounds irresponsible. Maybe if I would be single.

* As a guy I don't consider buying clothes a fun thing to do.

Putting the money into bitcoin seems a better move. In just a few months, he could have earned more without the risk of losing everything. He will just have to worry his daily expense until halving and after that he could have tripled the money or even more.

Well that video seems old, chances are Bitcoin didn't exist by then and even if it did, I doubt he was knowledgeable enough to do it. In any case, im sure there are way better ideas to gamble that money in the stock market, rather than in some all or nothing stupid casino bet. Casinos are for fun, not for life threatening bets.
