I mine 50% ethereum and 50% BTC. I convert my ether into BTC anyways.
How much have you spend on mining in the past year, and how much did you get out of it? Do you make a profit? For me, I spent around $10,000 to buy the GPU and pay for the electricity. I made about $5000. That is mainly because of Ethereum. Without Ethereum, the GPU mining profit is marginal, ie there is no ROI. What is the next big altcoin to mine for us? feathercoin is profitable, on par with ethereum some times

Ether profit is shrinking daily but its still the most profitable followed up by decred and probably dgb or feathercoin. I wish the market was better but there is just so much competition even shitcoins are mined to death in hopes of those riches. Altho shitcoin mining CAN pan out if it is shitty enough few want to mine it then you can dump when it hits the exchange. I did that with darklisk and made 5 times what I would mining ether during the time period I mined it. What is the next big altcoin? Well which altcoin has the most potential to succeed that is asic resistant. My crystal ball is broken

Do you did that without the using of any software and is it profitable?

Ethereum gives me constant cash flow. It is profitable for now. But its difficulty is rising fast. It might not be profitable for me in the future.

Also KNC Titan(s) are still doing great with LTC. But it is a hard 'Unicorn Hunt' to find one at a price that makes any sense. With halving coming up that makes also such purchases at current Ebay prices 'iffy' imho also Etherium makes sense yet for a kinda 'hobby miner' ie at the end of it all and if you convert Ethereum to BTC ..you likely "yet" would get your card paid for ..for mining it 4 or more months (or look at it as less and a discount on your GPU card) anyway bout it now imho

Any recommendations for 4x7950 rig?
Last time I mined was in April 2013. Should I still stick with Scrypt coins?

no lol scrypt is doomed for gpu the same as sha and now x11 , but not completely, better to focus on ethereum and similar or quark, but the 7950 have only 3g so it may suffer a bit on ethereum

You can mine Etheruem with the 7950. It is not very efficient as it has only 3GB video memory. But it still works.

Depends I'd guess on WHEN they are going to go to a POS coin. Any info on when that may be (hints by ethereum devs/etc) me...if I was them I'd let this pow hype for for 12 months more plus ...seems to work for them (have zip in ethereum ..ie missed boat) Just commenting from the 'Bleachers')

So they should let the PoW continue after most of the GPU cards do not work.

I need to 'split' more of these deals on ebay with paypal and credit card protection ..and yeah they mine full out and they were NEW Titan Nov 2014 units....(really!) Even the 'supposed' dead cube works.... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1423042.msg14395660#msg14395660Got to be corporation who pulled these for the class action and losing is my 'only' explanation...the guy in question did not seem to know zip ...probably just told by a biz/corp to move it ..so they can recoup their lawyers (1.5k non refundable on loss) and the 3.5k plus is paid to knc for claims/legal fees cause they win. I mean I hear 'rumors' that knc is going thru the individual cases in Swedish Class action with Judge one by one on the class action (how it is done in Sweden) and winning...and this 'pops up' seems damn likely imho. The timing seems right. Also heard of another few cubes going 1 x 1 recently too ..same kinda thing...new and unused but parted out. Have not have anyone fess up that they got took by KNC and lawyers for an extra 5k or so......yet To confirm such that is.... but then again I'd probably not confess to 'losing' another 5k to KNC on the loss like this either. Anyway this may go down as my best ever deal lifetime for eBay score EVER! Again this was split with a buddy. I got one of the 2 (new) Titans for $1,750 usd (not like it is a big secret ...from eBay sold link..for everyone to see.......but then again still kinda shocked it was not a box of rocks Pays to be dumb and lucky sometimes (its a skill) And you got to love that credit card and PayPal protection on eBay....even if it had turned out to be a 'box of rocks'
