I have mining Etherium, this is very simple, for RoI more than 8 months (2 months again I have RoI). for others mining like DOGE and Dash my stop, because not profit again

I also mine some Ethereum. But if you want to invest to mine it now, the ROI is much longer, almost 10 months.

that ROI ignores the added vlaue of having a high-end GPU (if you are mining wit a gaming rig), and the resale value.  I expect that mining for 3 months then reselling could easily breakeven, thoug i plan to keep the card mining much longer

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

there is really no reason to sell new brand gpu, that belong to a new generation, so soon, these thing will last until Volta will come out, and until then they will hold a very high value

there is no way the retail price will drop under $400 anytime soon, that is their target price settled by nvidia, removing vat from $400 you will be able to sell them at $330 easily, even in one year

None, unfortunately it's not an interesting time to mine as it was a while ago.

thats what i figure - but better to plan short term so tat long term benefits are more enjoyable

the GTX1070 sould be relevant for 4+ years, just as the 7970 is still relevant to ethereum and can sell for $75+

Doge?

You do realise most Doge "mining" today is "merge mining" from folks mining Litecoin?

That is good price. Even though 7970 is not good at mining the Ethereum when the DAG file is large size.

The 7970 is quite good at mining other coins. So the price is still kept quite high. I have a few of those.

That is good price. Even though 7970 is not good at mining the Ethereum when the DAG file is large size.

I'm pretty sure most 7970 were at least 3GB cards though?

2GB versions will get to be worthless on ETH in a few months, but anything with more RAM should be no problem for the remaining POW time of ETH.

No the problem is that the hashing speed slows down every 5 days. It used to be 28MH/s a year ago and now they are 18MH/s.

About 0.10MH/s is lost every 5 days.

That evens out though, DAG file size increase affects everyone more-or-less evenly 'till the "too big for 2GB cards" point hits.

I used to mine different altcoins (mostly Myriadcoin) using MinerGate a few weeks ago, but found out mining isn't for my PC anymore. Now I've stopped mining as it's no profit for me. I think I can mine like 10000 satoshis per day right now, lol.. I guess in a year I won't even be able to mine 10 satoshis with my specs.

If you have a decent GPU with more than 2GB memory, you can mine Ethereum. It is profitable for most miners.

Not really since maybe 20% off all GPUs are Tahiti/Pitcairn.

The Hawaii or Tonga or Fiji aren't affected by the DAG.

I'm throwing ~60Th/s @ NeosCoins (NEOS).
The devs are lazy and ruining everything good about it with crappy Zend wallets, but on exchange I make more BTC than actually mining BTC

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

 Wrong.

DAG file size gets bigger, takes longer to go through it FOR EVERY CARD.

Hawaii and Tonga and Fiji ARE in fact affected by DAG file size.

I mine Ethereum. the price is quite high, so it is profitable. The volume is very large in Poloniex, so I can sell it easily.
i want to mine ethereum but the minergate gui doesnt work for me
but now i currently using the 32 bit version

I do not see the drop of the hash rate on my Hawii cards such as AMD R9 390. They are almost constant so far.

The hashrate drop is small on a month-to-month basis - really only noticable over the course of several months.
It seems to be directly proportional to DAG file size.
