Incoming:"Microsoft controls Ethereum". What you have to ask is, is it possible to implement ETH where BTC is currently being accepted?
I don't care, nor do I want that to happen. Here you go: ...
In comparison to Bitcoin is what I meant. Lauda i am pretty surprised at you saying this, i had thought that you where one pretty sensible guy but seriously are you telling me that just because you cant use ether (which is pretty petty to be honest, i live in Ireland, within about 400 miles i can by a coffee in bitcoin in one shop) then it is some sort of pump and dump ? What kind of argument is this? "I'm invested in Ether and you are insensible because you dislike it"? My 3 points stand strong. Again, it is a fact that the merchant adoption is very weak in comparison to BTC (I'll assume LTC has better than Ether); it is a fact that there were bots promoting ETH on reddit and it is a fact that there are bots spamming "Bitcoin dying; ETH up" rubbish here, ergo the chances of this being coordinated are very high. Can't you use logic? My logic would tell me that you missed out on Ether and are raging...... haha enjoy the rage quite big lad......... Are you a retard?

I think that the Eth pump has nothing to do against bitcoin. Ethereum already prooved to be a better option than bitcoin. Ether solved a lot of problems that bitcoin couldn't solve so its price increase is a perfectly normal reaction.

I would like to add also this thing : You can have both bitcoin & ethereum, what is the problem? The first doesn't put down the second & viceversa. It's a stupid fight between bitcoiner and ethereum users, I think also that is better to have more 'coin' instead to have only one because it's a sort of decentralization and free choice. Ethereum is here to stay no doubt about it. I dont think it will become bigger than bitcoin. But it;s always nice to have diversification, and have multiple innovations going on.
Exactly, this is what I said.... and this thread will lose all its meaning if we start to think that both coins/projects are not enemies.

I really do not trust this eth thing... I hope it will not damage bitcoin in future.
Not really, they're the same team well then there is all the cards for a conflict of interest, also ethereum is pretty much controlled by one guy, with his huge premine, i don't like this i know he his not stupid to dump, but.....int he remote case the ship sink you know what i mean...

Althogh I`m concerned about ETH big pumps, they could be only fake mania and could go back to lower prices. And also, the technology is too complex so there can be many zero day bugs there that could be exploited later and could cause big damage. I`d not put a lot of money in it just yet.

I cannot see why Alt coins discussions like ETH is tolerated on a Bitcoin forum under non-Alt coin sections any way. They stopped the XT discussions when it was labelled as a Alt coin and now we are
allowing ETH pumpers to hijack every other thread and ETH shills doing their thing all over the show. I also have some ETH but I am not going to force it down onto others in the hope that it might
become something and to the detriment of Bitcoin? How is this allowed on a Bitcoin forum?
Ask the guy who started the thread. For the record I am short Etherium today and have always been long BTC It's more about what's going on with bitcoin and less about some crappy alt.

... In comparison to Bitcoin is what I meant. So there already are sites that accept ETH, but you can't use ETH nowhere in comparison to BTC? Yeah, let's pretend that makes sense. Biggest problem with Bitcoin atm is too many people take its leading position (first mover advantage) for granted. Stalling the growth and crippling its usage could backfire badly and suddenly.

Just another way to try and discredit bitcoin and create fud. Better sell before we break out of this triangle and the eth insider traders take all your bitcoins....although if you're holding eth at this point thinking it will replace bitcoin, you deserve to lose them anyway.
BS. There's genuine interest for Ethereum, and if Blockstream/Core is not removed, in few months Ethereum market cap will be bigger than Bitcoin. So obvious.

I just don't get how people still fall for the notion that you need a whole NEW FUCKING CURRENCY for EVERY FEATURE that shitcoins tend to add. This crap doesn't even have a fucking working GUI. a 1 billion cap and they can't even produce something trivial as a graphic overlay of their shitty 35 programs you need to run that network. I will be feasting on the sorrow of the bagholders when this dump intensifies, and more when it does so even more.

Crazy all these eth topics. Don't agree here: I think ether is a genuine push for something new and better but it can easily coexist with bitcoin, much like all the other coins do. People will have their favorites but neither btc nor eth is going anywhere.

I disagree about the genuine push for better. This is a money grab. This was born from the greed following the mastercoin ipo. The nxt ipo. The bitshares ipo. The counterparty ipo and the supernet ipo. People like fucking money. Like to speculate and gamble. But above all people like shiny objects. Vitalik made etherium seem really shiny, plus daddy is rich. Crazy all these eth topics. What the fucks his dad got to do with anything? Honestly some people are seriously screwed with jealously. Jealousy towards people buying a coin with zero intrinsic value and getting lucky. Similarly to Ripple, ETH is inherently valueless because there is no limit on the supply and a corporation owns it. Greed is the reason people are buying into this and not just buying Bitcoin. They missed the first rally up on Bitcoin (even though there is plenty of growth left) and want to repeat that here. Only they'll end up having nothing and hating themselves while Bitcoin pulls away further. Don't be that chump and just hold Bitcoin.

I mean, ETH is up like what, 1,400% over a couple of months? >Greed is the reason people are buying into this You mean people invest to make money? Not to lose money? Hmm... Now that you put it that way, I guess BTC wasn't such a hot investment after all

You need new currencies for new features because it's pretty much impossible to add new features to bitcoin, which is frozen in aspic. Yes in an ideal world all the smart features should be added to BTC, but we're not in that world. At some point so much innovation will have taken place that BTC will feel like a buggy compared to the combustion engine of some alts.

Ethereum currently is a bugged disaster, and because its so complex there can be many hidden exploits yet to be discovered. BTC is by far the safest currency out there both by network size, and by code structure and testing. This wont change in the next 5-6 years. I could hardly see anyone putting their retirement savings in DOGE or crap like that.

And they will probably be the first altcoin to challenge bitcoin but no way al those merchants will replace it with ETH. My guess is they will not even consider ETH since ti is just an alt..

I dont think ETH poses any threat to bitcoin whatsoever, it's like apples and oranges, they are meant for different purposes. Ethereum will never have the safety bitcoin has, because its not meant for that. ETH is meant for producing things not storing things. So they have different roles in this game.
