Bitwala customers will receive fee-free bitcoin transactions for the next two weeks in celebration of the payment service having logged 2 million transactions in one year.

Starting Monday, Bitwala will waive its 0.5% fee. Users can redeem Bitwala’s fee-free offer until March 28 with the code: THANKYOU.

Pay Bills With Bitcoin

Bitwala launched as Europe’s first bill payment service that allows users to pay bills with bitcoin. The service makes it possible to to use bitcoin for paying for anything from credit card bills to utilities.

Bitcoin owners can pay fiat bills without having to use an exchange. Users can pay any invoice that accepts a bank transfer –rent, gym membership, credit card, etc. Users simply enter the payee details and amount to activate a SEPA bank transfer. Users can transfer up to €50,000 per month and pay recurring bills.

The company claims its transaction fee is the lowest on the market.

Goal: Replace Online Banking

Bitwala’s mission is to replace online banking for the bitcoin community.

In December, Bitwala introduced a bitcoin debit card for its “Tier 2 verified” customers. Customers were invited to choose between a virtual or physical card nominated in Euro. The debit card allows users to cash out money directly on any ATM and pay where VISA is accepted.

In November, CCN reported that Bitwala began allowing users to send bitcoin to any PayPal account.
