Soooo, is it necessary to do a full format, or is scanning and deleting the virus enough?

Its not just the cpu miner that contains malware but also the wallet consistently tries to connect to nodes that have been flagged in the malwarebytes database for spreading malware. Also I wasn't running cpu miner, just the wallet and gpuminer which "appear" to be clean and still I was constantly being notified by my antivirus software about the virus file "taskhost" appearing in the temp directory, even though each time it was blocked and deleted by the antivirus.
so there is actually infection, but not strong enough to do anything, low end virus, my malwarebyte was also blocking a node, and malwarebyte found taskhost

I really dont understand the point of this. Anyone who has been around since 2012 should be able to at least cobble together a virus capable of earning some money. This was just a bunch of lame shitware that wasted all our time what gives? and for the record this was the worst wallet, ugliest anyway.

He didnt even paid me the whole amount he said for the miner pre-release (was not a lot, at least i got 0.099 BTC, but wasted some hours on yiimp) And he didn't tell me neither that was to be published for a new coin. Nvm, i stop working on this algo... but.. the binary on github doesnt make alerts on virustotal, are you sure it was unsafe ? maybe modified later... or that came from another source, like the cpu miner quoted links https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/4b4f3236eabdeb616abbc6a1808deff7d9b561ee961e51c49a152e3900396d95/analysis/1458007586/

Anyone figured out a way to find this type of trojan before actually running it? Like with some hex editor or something?

I don't know if it's the dev who planted the virus or not but he's pretty easy to dox. If you look at his first post on bitcointalk back from 2012 you can find everything you need to know about him by searching his recording label in this post. There could also be the possibility that this account was sold a long time ago. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15672.msg1171453#msg1171453Looks like this account was hacked. 3 years of inactivity. I see a few coins popping up recently with such accounts. Be very careful with new coins and high post devs, guys.

After downloading either the wallet or the miner I had some suspicious attempts at login into my email. I had changed my password but that was no use since it must be a keylogger.
They cleaned out my Bittrex, YoBit, C-cex and Cryptopia accounts of BTC and Alts. Not sure what I can possibly do, probably nothing, but wondering if this happened to anyone else?
Or was I the only idiot who recently disabled 2 Step because I got annoying lol?
