It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Hello Bitlovers.

I'm making a website to promote bitcoin - and want to push the 'essentials' if life one needs to buy in order to live.

So, I'd say:
  • Food
  • Car Fuel
  • Electirc energy to the home
  • Internet Service Provider

Any other idea's ?
Housing.

I'm thinking a little more "outside the square" here, taking your bare essentials, and adding in "somewhat" essential items.

Mobile phone plan/cost/service.
Car servicing/repair
Gas to home (you mentioned electricity, missed gas)
Appliance repair & servicing

Don't also forget - getting the necessities in life is a good thing, of course, but people like to reward themselves too... I don't quite know what your planning in terms of this site, but other things to consider:

Wine/liquor
Restaurants/home delivered meals
Cinema or other outing

Look forward to seeing the results of your thinking! Smiley

Essentials:

  • Food (life requires food)
  • Community Water Supply (life requires water)
  • Electricity (cools my home and allows me to safely move around at night)
  • Natural Gas (heats my home and cook with it)
  • Telephone or Cell Phone (need to be able to call an ambulance in an emergency)
  • Rent or Mortgage (protection from the elements)
  • Vehicle Fuel (can't get to work without it)
  • Homeowners/Renters Insurance (bank that holds my mortgage requires it)
  • Automobile Insurance (illegal to drive without it)
  • Broadband Internet (can't use bitcoin without it)

Preferred:

  • Cable/Satellite Television
  • Life Insurance
  • Airline Tickets
  • Hotels
  • Restaurants
  • Health Club or Gym

Ammo.

I don't own any firearms but I assume that will become the currency if the world collapses and there is no internet infrastructure to support Bitcoin.
