Forgotten root Pass Esxi 6.0

hi guys, i can not remember my esxi 6.0 servers root pass. there is no safe way to reset the pass talkings on vmware forum. they said only supported method was reinstall the esxi. but i watched some videos on youtube some guys made tricks (changing shadow files and modify md5sum) but i can not tried these methods. the servers running under esxi are critical for me. and i can not take this risks.
is there anyone solve this situation before?

I had this before and reinstalled the esxi, restored the configs. Vms will still be on the datastore

there will be no needed to extra config for created vms after reinstallation right?
