I sent a small amount of BTC without fee. It's been over 30 mins and I see no confirmations yet.
What are my options now?

I'ts been a while (2 years i think) since I used BTC for many things and now I started using it again. I used to send funds from my qt wallet, but don't use that anymore. Is qt wallet better for transactions? what's the difference between using qt wallet and using online wallets, please share links with me, will be very helpful to get back on track.

wait for it to get confirmed or wait for the mempool to drop the tx (this will return the btc to your wallet). or
can you post the tx?
also if you're using core maybe you can try using the new(ish) Replace-by-Fee feature. I'm still learning how to do that though so hopefully someone can explain that to you (and me).

Start bitcoin with the option, -zapwallettxes... this will clear the unconfirmed tx

You can then re-send the tx with a higher fee

that's also only viable if OP are running core. he said he's not using it anymore.

You didn't say what wallet or service you had used to send the BTC.  Do you have a tx id?

Used blockchain wallet. It's been almost 20+ hours now.

I can start using QT again if that's something that helps in transactions when compared with online wallets like block chain.

that's a 1.3kb transaction with zero fees. your tx will most likely never get confirmed and will be dropped from the mempool as long there's no one rebroadcasting it frequently.

Its confirmed.

1 input had ~1600 confirmations.
1 input had ~99,000 confirmations.
the other 4 inputs had > 100,000 confirmations.

Thus the TX had a very high priority and did not need to pay fee.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

ah, just saw this was confirmed. strange, how this all happened. I just wanted it back (or to resolve this) so i could pay the guy again.

Using 2 year old inputs certainly helped.

Thanks for all your replies. Glad it went through.

What are the best wallets to use now? Do people still use QT (if yes, whats the best way to install the heavy transactions)? why use QT over online wallets?

The definition of best wallets is subjective. For most, a SPV client would most likely suffice. SPV clients provides the normal features of sending and receiving transactions without needing much resources (Bandwidth, disk space, CPU speed, etc.). An example of SPV Client is Electrum. However, it uses information from a peer that it is connected to and trusts the peer. Full nodes like Bitcoin Core does not trust what other clients says and independently verifies each block. A solution to defeat this problem is running a full node and have the SPV client to connect only to that node.

Bitcoin Core does has a lot of optimization, notably the headers-first synchronization (reduced the initial download time),  libsecp256k1 validation (reduced the verification time) and blockchain pruning (reduced the disk space). Blockchain pruning did help lots of people with their disk space but can present some problems with various tasks. The bandwidth problem is still present.

Online wallets are extremely weak in terms of security. Online wallets could potentially allow the owner to make malicious code changes to the site and thus weaken the security. In more extreme cases, online wallets that has control over the private key directly can easily run off with the user's balance. An SPV Client that is open sourced and trusted does not have these issues.

*Note: Your wallet choice does not affect the time taken for transactions to confirm.

There's nothing you could do expect waiting for awhile until it gets confirmed by miners
