As the title implies.. Someone tried to hack my forum account... Please ban this IP  Grin

happens a lot lately. be wary in clicking the links provided because they may be a phishing mails (if you get too used in seeing it you might think a phishing mail as the real one).

Yeah I checked that... But the mail I received is from the normal address, noreply@bitcointalk.org.... At least I think its the regular mail address Smiley

DO NOT post the link here if you haven't used it to reset your password. anyone can reset your password if you do that (I think the new password will be sent to your email. not sure.).

well look at the link letter by letter. if it's something like bitcolntairk.org don't click it.

well look at the link letter by letter. if it's something like bitcolntairk.org don't click it.

There is no harm in posting the primary URL of the link without the "/" part which in case could be a secure url to change the password. @Op Least you can do is post the primary URL and make sure its not a phishing link before changing the password.

yeah that should be safe.



so I just tried resetting my pass via email (received an email within seconds) out of curiosity and it appears the new pass take effect immediately after you enter the new password. you don't get additional email or anything.
