they are accepting bitcoin but they are now supporting altcoins too by including them in their azure project which whenever news come out price of that altcoin get doubled over night, and bitcoin value go down to put that in altcoin. I think microsoft is supporting blockchain and power of decentralization and dapps rather than bitcoin.

It is a really good thing that a company as Microsoft is supporting Bitcoin. It will make Bitcoin only more popular.
Microsoft is the biggest computer software company so if people see that they support Bitcoin people will see that and trust Bitcoin.

Already Microsoft is a part of our bitcoin. This will give more big corporate to enter the bitcoin technology. Big corporates adopt only after finding it is flawless.

In the first place i never knew that microsoft supported bitcoin but if it does i hope that will continue for a much longer time as i think that if bitcoin wants to become a central currency then bitcoin will need all the support it can get so it is really great that microsoft is doing this.

I suppose Microsoft decided to stop accepting Bitcoin payments probably because there were not enough Bitcoin users to warrant the expenses put into running the service but apparently they changed their mind. It's always good when big companies like Microsoft back Bitcoin.

Why, any specific reason? Do you think this isn't good?

I didn't even know that I could spend bitcoin in the Microsoft store; in fact, I am going to go in there, here in a second, and confirm it with a purchase of an app or something.  Nice!  Well, that's why they weren't realizing any revenue from bitcoin; they never told us we could use it with them....

I didn't know I can spend my BTC on Microsoft e-stores, pretty much a nice way to buy XBOX LIVE subscription or buy points to buy arcade games, beside that I have no need for Windows usage, am on Linux.
Its great though that a company as big as Microsoft is accepting Bitcoin, thats a huge plus in my opinion.

as far as i know Microsoft is not "supporting" bitcoin it is just a payment option they have on their services page. when i saw the topic i though they did some kind of support (speech article or something like that) to support bitcoin. they are working with altcoins more especially in Azure.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

That's right.
Microsoft is accepting Bitcoin as payment option but not supporting it actively.
And in terms of Azure it looks like they accept almost every shitcoin. Cheesy
So much for that.

It was temporarily removed due to some "inaccurate information" being posted online. I'm not sure why/how they've let this happen (or whether this is the true reason behind it), but apparently everything is back to normal. What's unfortunate here (IIRC) is that Microsoft only accepts Bitcoin in the US region.

And in terms of Azure it looks like they accept almost every shitcoin. Cheesy
That's what happens once greed steps in.

I think microsoft is supporting blockchain and power of decentralization and dapps rather than bitcoin.
I can agree with MS being in support of blockchain technology (which is revolutionary), but I doubt that they care much about decentralization (if at all). Should I remind you of all the 'telemetry' updates to the recent versions of Windows?

I do not understand why someone wants to buy daily life stuff with Bitcoin. If you have the decision of buying something with Gold instead with fiat, what would you do? Same holds to Bitcoin. Therefore it does not really surprise me that there are few people who want to buy stuff with Bitcoin.

Yes, if anything they would like to get their greedy pecking fingers on anything they can to try and license it.  They are the most centralizing corporation out there!  Weren't they tied up in a couple of anti-trust monopoly lawsuits awhile back?  I'd be cautious of sharing anything with Microsoft....Didn't they steal the Windows concept from Apple?
