Last weekend, Microsoft decided to end its ties with Bitcoin. However, the Windows maker later stated that the announcement was made by mistake and that it still supports the virtual payment option, reported The Verge. Previously, the company mentioned in its latest FAQ post: “You can no longer redeem Bitcoin into your Microsoft account.”

A spokesperson from Microsoft told The Verge that the company still supports Bitcoin and users can buy content in the Xbox and Windows store. He further said that the company apologizes for the incorrect information that was posted on the company’s website, which has now been corrected.

Users can continue to use the digital currency option to purchase music, software, consoles, games, and more content from Xbox and Windows store. It is unclear at the moment how the error occurred. Microsoft has refused to share how many users use the virtual payment option on its platform.
