The concept of Services running on ServiceNodes or Masternodes was pushed by me and others back in early 2014 when MasterNodes were first introduced in Dash as a means to provide anon transactions.

Whitepapers

> Mining - SPR has one of the most decentralized mining algos with a unique approach that encourages solo mining - white paper here

> Blockchain data mining - SPR has written a detailed Whitepaper about generating revenues for Bitcoin nodes by harnessing Bitcoin and other blockchains data. Data intelligence tools can be used by third parties to generate data dashboards via SPRs proposed blockchain data market - details here

ServiceNodes will be paid to operate services and as services generate revenues, these will be distributed around the network. This overview of payments gives an indication of how much serviceNode operators can expect to earn, details here and monthly estimations here

The services that the SPR community is looking to develop are:

Short-term

* Decentralised explorer for any coin - more details here & here

* Big Bitcoin Data - more details here

Mid-term

* Automated Escrow (CLTV and the new zero knowledge verification)

* Decentralised Exchange - more details here

* Instant Bitcoin Transactions (if we can figure out the decentralized exchange and instant locking via ServiceNodes) - details here

Long-term

* Decentralised search engine - some info here

* Decentralised Coinbase type accounts - subject to regulatory compliance, more details here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1045373.msg11262662#msg11262662

The SPR community is also one of the key teams behind the Blockchain series of events that are aimed at raising funds as incentives for Bitcoin full nodes

three?

I set-up this one up twice. lol the first version I had to lock. I tried to create it as a self-moderated thread because (well, long story which involves ISIS), but it didn't generate a self-moderated thread. So, here we are.

So, this thread was in response to people asking about a central source of information about the services we're working on, without having to pester the dev who maintains the OP of the main thread.

Like I said, I was trying to get a self-moderated thread and the infrastructure around here didn't want to allow it. What can I say? Sorry.

Yeah, I'm going to do some editing and I'll add that in. Slight case of intoxication at the moment hampering my ability to type.

I definitely want service nodes as much as the next person.

However, I'm glad you're pushing ahead with a lot of your research. It seems that SN's will be able to support any number of decentralized apps... isn't the question be more about what shouldn't / what we can't do? I mean possibilities are pretty much endless. Prioritization of what will add value to BTC and also SPR networks is highly important in which case it is a matter of what services generate the most revenue for the network, right?
