Just putting this here for the eventual contradiction.

 Wink

Though in all fairness, even a modest rise puts us over the all-time high by the end of the year.

He means it in Yuan, but he's wrong.  The BtcChina is trading bitcoin at 127 Yuan range which is the all-time-high in the exchange's history.

Well, we got there faster than I thought. Just another example of what happens when you say "never" about bitcoin.

Interesting times.

History disagrees!

In the past month, we've had several flash-crashes, each one about 20% down from recent highs.

Even if you're a turbobull, until/unless we pass $125 it's silly to expect that bitcoins will never trade for less than a Benjamin.

If there is something that will make Bitcoin succeed, it is growth of utility - greater quantity and variety of goods and services offered for BTC. If there is something that will make Bitcoin fail, it is the prevalence of users convinced that BTC is a magic box that will turn them into millionaires, and of the con-artists who have followed them here to devour them.

I could see it dipping down from $140 to the $90s. Every dip seems to grow larger Sad

The original post was done in jest - I was pretty sure we'd hit $100, just didn't know when. As for the charts - yes, I'd keep in mind that we could have another $20 decline at any time if we get overheated. Wouldn't really affect my long-term stance on bitcoin, though.

Supply and demand if something falls more is bought after all

don't think it will do so again from this point. especially with the block halving in 2016. it just doesn't make sense for the price to go near the $100 level.
