To the person who stole my 21.69634058 bitcoins. It took me 2 years to save $14,000 to invest into Bitcoins that you took from me in 2 seconds. I invest in Bitcoin because I have complete faith in Bitcoin's success. I'm struggling to figure out how to get those Bitcoins back and it will take me much a lot longer to save up the same amount. My address was: 1VDs4Wuvjk8qDjHvWJhkMBSSWHjVbVMJP and now the bitcoins are with someone who owns 1Bitcoinvt9e6SDDnSzsrhmqc2hZ3GBqUt https://blockchain.info/address/1VDs4Wuvjk8qDjHvWJhkMBSSWHjVbVMJPPlease I beg you to return me my Bitcoins. I'm totally lost! You can keep 1 or 2 Bitcoins for yourself if you think you need them more then I do. But please return the rest back to me to my new wallet: 1HPLtpULtPykCkrnwo4zcEN8yE2Pi8fm6C I really hope this message reaches to the person. God bless you Sim edit: Here is a signed messaged to prove I did have those bitcoins. 1VDs4Wuvjk8qDjHvWJhkMBSSWHjVbVMJP This is to prove that I own the bitcoins I mentioned in the forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1406200.40. The possibility of this reaching the person is slim to now, try sending a few satoshis to the address and attach a note linking them to this thread

To the person who stole my 21.69634058 bitcoins, you have shattered my dream of having enough money to send my sister to medical school. I invest in Bitcoin instead of putting it in my bank account is because I have complete faith in Bitcoin's success. I'm struggling to figure out how to get those Bitcoins back and it will take me much a lot longer to save up the same amount on a cleaner's salary. @Your Point Is Invalid - Thank you. I didn't know I could send notes. I will try to do that, I will just have to buy some bitcoins.
@whywefight - Yea I know I am a bit late to notice. But I didn't open my wallet until last week and after my wallet finished syncing I noticed the missing bitcoins. "can you sign a message from the address where the coins came from" ... I'm sorry but I don't know what that means. I slowly bought the bitcoins overtime from an exchange but here is what that transaction description shows in my wallet.

This thread now shows up on a Google search for this address 1Bitcoinvt9e6SDDnSzsrhmqc2hZ3GBqUt. Tainted.

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

I totally don't believe OP. Sounds so much like a sob story scam attempt, it's not even funny. And why would you save money in bitcoin to pay for your sister's med school tuition? It just doesn't ring true.

@vodaljepa - you are right. But I just really hope I can get the person's attention and hopefully he will return them back. If he doesn't then I will just assume that he needed them more than I do.
@Lutpin - I promise I'm not a troll or whatever they do. I'm just trying to get the person's attention. You guys have been nice enough to help me out here with your posts. Thank you.
@The Pharmacist - I don't know how else to explain myself anymore. I've showed you guys my bitcoin transaction history and you can see I did own those bitcoins and now there are somewhere else. I can even send you my wallet and you can check. I have 1 more year until I have to pay for med school. And back then when I was looking at investment options Bitcoin sounded like a better option then opening up a fixed deposit account with my bank. Honestly I'm not scamming anyone, that's something I would never do.
@fuathan - How do I announce a bounty ?

Im sorry , but if this story is true, I think you should know you made a terrible mistake to use bitcoin as a method to store value. You should have used a bank and kept your fiat safe. I hope this story convinces others not to do the same thing, with your valuables, regardless of the coin you use, this was a huge gamble, and should only have be done it with disposable income.

So, it took you two years to acquire these coins, but you have no idea how to sign a message? Read this thread " How to sign a message?!". You are being called a troll because your coins were stolen months ago, but you came here crying months after your coins were stolen. It sounds like you are trolling TBH.

@krunox123 - OK, seriously what do I get out of being a "troll" ? Whatever troll means. Do I get my coins back by being a troll ? I guess not. So the only reason I'm posting here is to see if you can help me somehow and if someone else is in the same situation as me. I do not open my bitcoin wallet everyday. I had the coins in the the exchange I bought it from I left it there for a while and only transferred them to my local bitcoin wallet in December last year and I didn't open my wallet up until last week. I'm really not sure why is this so hard to believe.
"it took you two years to acquire these coins, but you have no idea how to sign a message?" <--- I'm probably not as clever as you. I just bought them from the exchange.

So sorry to know your coins have been stolen. I think you should mitigate the risk of this happening in future. It is obvious that you only look at your coins once in a blue moon so offline cold storage is recommended - maybe you can consider using offline wallets such as paper wallets or Trezor?

Lots of gloating captain hindsight's come out of the woodwork who would cry themselves to sleep for weeks if they had 0.00001 BTC stolen from them. I do believe you and I feel your pain but the reality is the thief wont return the coins to you unless he is suddenly endowed with a great deal of regret and compassion. I'm very sorry this happened to you and I for one understand we don't all open our BTC wallets every hour of every day to stare at some numbers. Its a terrible thing that's happened and all I can say is time will heal. Personally, I always try to turn a disadvantage in to an advantage. This may seem impossible but think about it. How could you turn this around? Maybe you could take a look around and investigate some promising ALT coins and look at trading and winning on a few of them. It may surprise you that 21btc might not be so difficult to recover if you choose wisely. Imagine you had 1000 ETH a few months ago. There is a way, it will mean some research and planning but the benefits you could gain from this very bad experience could be turned around and hold you in good stead for years to come. Thats just one idea, perhaps you can think of something else. Turn this disadvantage experience in to something positive. It can be done.
