Has Bitcoin died? Is your answer ''no''? Then Litecoin has not died either. LTC and BTC have been performing simarly over the course of the past 7-8 months. LTC not rising has been criticised, but BTC's lack of pumpage has been not. Why? Because you're butthurt idiots who want to promote shitty scam/ipo/pre-mine coins instead?

LTC will MOON if, no, WHEN BTC moons.

Other shitcoins, like ''ether'', won't. Reason why is simple; it mooned when the serious coins didn't. So it will do the opposite when the serious coins show their power, strength and stamina.

I suspect we will see a massive ltc pump sometime this year. I mean if shit like eth can shoot up to $15 then why not a proper coin like LTC?

Litecoin is stable. Only fools, scammers, genocidal maniacs would claim a STABLE CURRENCY equals the currency having had his last breath years ago.

Traditional fiat currencies that are stable perform the best in the world.

The pumpage will come. And those loyal to LTC and BTC will be greatly rewarded in coins able to fill many purses.

Litecoin is struggling though. For a long time it was the #2 coin. Now it's #3 behind Ethereum.

It's true that some exchanges use it as a trading pair. But the biggest alt exchange, Poloniex, uses Monero as it's second pair instead. The only reason LTC hasn't died yet is because of the Chinese exchanges.

Why LTC? I am interested in your thoughts on its merits.

Merits:

• Capable of four times as many transactions as Bitcoin in a ten minute period. Frankly if payment processors had adopted Litecoin in the past year current Bitcoin block discussions would be irrelevant (and likely the price of both coins higher). Anyone who has watched these discussions understands the immediate advantage of a network with larger transactional capability.  
• Faster confirmation times. The only people who don't think this is important have never spent a single coin or they have patience that the average person does not possess.
• The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks.
• Anti-spam.
• Fast well established network. Current Hashrate is 1,643 GH/s. Since scrypt is memory intensive it is known to be approximately 1000 times slower hardware wise in comparison to SHA256. Fair comparison to the Bitcoin network requires multiplying that hashrate by 1000 (1,643 TH/s). The fact is for most of Litecoins history the hashrate has been relatively high and secure. Those comparing it to the Bitcoin network without considering this 1k factor are either being disingenuous or just ignorant of the facts.

The popular coins probably won't die anytime soon,  just the real shitcoins.  Like the ones that are trading for 1 satoshi or that have volume so thin they might as well not even be trading.  Litecoin definitely has some life left in it.

You think?  I have a feeling that ETH isn't going to die, nor ones like Dash that have been premined.  I was talking about the really lame ones that go to basically zero--you see them on Yobit going for one satoshi each.  There are so many of them that have just been totally abandoned.  I think the user base for ETH and the others will probably keep them afloat for some time.

it certainly didn't die but it also didn't grow. i never heard of litecoin devs getting in touch  like announcing a new feature with the community though. i do have litecoin somehow its not much but i'm hoing it will grow, maybe i could earn few bucks when that happen. one thing that makes me hopeful still is that ltc is being used on some gambling sites.
