Bruno's title gave me an idea. I am a stickler for quality in design as is clearly visible in my trolling of various natures last year. Albeit misplaced, my intentions were in the right direction: to bring higher standards to design and form in the bitcoin world. Typical bounties are a race to finish, like spec work, they potentially cheat everyone involved of the chance to learn and develop organically as a team. They are useful in many scenarios, but I wanted to present an idea for an alternative bounty system.

• An initial rough object (be it an article, an equation, a graphic design, anything really) is presented in poor quality along with a wallet address containing a small bounty (let's say 0.01 BTC) held in escrow.
• The following post is a revision of said object, done "better" than the previous, while paying double the previous bounty themselves (0.02 BTC).
• The object revision is approved or denied by the OP. (Optionally, participants vote on it with voting power proportional to their bounty contribution) Upon approval, the contributor is added to the list of accepted escrow recipients. If the revision is declined, the bounty for the revisions will still increase, but the declined submitter will not receive a bounty.
• This process is repeated until revisions are no longer remaining or a time limit is reached. This insures the best quality and the most shared ideas in an organic process.
• The last rendition is awarded the full escrowed bounty with respect from all parties involved for their superior skills or judgement in the initial task.

Why bother with this alternative system?

• The hones is on the craftsman to back his work with funds and not waste the time of the OP.
• Great projects could be funded by the community instead of the OP. Contributors who merely want to donate have a chance to try their hand in the creative process.
• The entire community can be involved in the learning process.

This can potentially cause a project to take longer to finish, but can also raise the awareness and skill level of each individual involved. Something that may be worth it in itself.

If you meant onus, when do I get paid?  

Seriously, it's an excellent idea, but I believe I've read something of this very nature on this forum, if not elsewhere. Some other member would have to come along and point it out if I'm correct.

What if your project was on a dedicated website where each page has a single paid ad as to where some of the micro funds would stem from?

I did mean onus, thank you for correcting that. I have not seen it practiced yet on these forums so I can't really say if someone mentioned it before or not. It seems like an interesting social experiment just the same.

In regards to advertisements, that could be a great idea to help fund numerous projects, but my instincts tell me that there just simply isn't enough market for advertisements in the bitcoin community at this stage.

It does seem like it would need a separate website though due to both escrow and "votes" (both optional of course).
