In the https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats page it says page views for 2013-02-02 were only 70794. Seems way off as other recent days are closer to 400k. I  know the site was down for a bit but I don't think it was down long enough to have that big an effect.

Is there a way to know the real number, or if that is the real number what is the explanation. If it is wrong can it be corrected?

The webserver is now nginx instead of Apache.  I wonder if there are pageviews that don't hit the database and thus aren't being computed.[/quote]

Really messes up the chart correlating the exchange rate compared to forum activity, eh?

Change of webservers shouldn't have an  effect on pageviews. More likely this is related to the reorg Theymos did concerning the way smf handles avatars. Before each avatar ti be displayed enforced another page call. This has been eliminated now. The new numbers should thus be closer to reality.

That seems plausible.

Here are GET request counts from the access logs.

Thanks for the data for the previous days.

Today's page views showing over 960k already. Doesn't seem real. Do you know what's up?

750,000 of those views are from 76.102.161.174. I wonder who that is.

I'd guess he was trying a DoS attack using some tool. He's banned now.
