youtube: Bitcoin discussed on Freedom 2.0 (Foxbusiness)

Original Thread

EDIT: even more original thread form Jan 3rd

Stossel (libertarian) plays devils advocate asking Catherine of Reason Magazine (libertarian, circulation: 50,000) questions about Bitcoin. She answers them in a very libertarian and pro Bitcoin way.

Someone has done research.

Quote from: Katherine
That's a small side-effect, but I think the much more important factor here is what Bitcoin can do in theory is: protect people from their own government.

Quote from: Katherine
The original silkroad was an incredible force for progress. This was the first or one of the very early instances of globalization: spices that were impossible to get in Europe made their way back from Asia and other things went the other direction. It's a powerfull force for improving the welfare of people. And the idea that this silkroad is somehow bad because it's anonymous I think is misguided.

Let's hope they do something in their Magazine or on ReasonTV

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Why call her a "girl from Reson Magazine"? "Woman from Reason Magazine" would be better.

It seems Katherine Mangu-Ward not only writes for Reason Magazine, but also for the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal (at least has been).

my bad. Added this info to my post in the holy press thread.

Maybe better delete that post?

Thing is: back then there was probably no vid available, right?

I'm a semi-regular reader of reason.com and it doesn't seem like Bitcoin gets much love in the comments (or at least not nearly as much as it should given the audience).

There was on reason magazine, you find it in the thread. The upload on youtube is new, though.

seems the vid on reason.com was put up on 6th while the post the press thread was on 3rd. So most likely most people missed the vid. I'll just let the post be.

Yes, do so, that's good news. I also saw some post in the introduce yourself thread, pointing out that they found out about Bitcoin thanks to this show.

I just wanted to point out that I found it first.   Grin
