Just moved to 65 here and my pension gets dinged 10% each year early I retire. Not even going to act like its going to be there and saving on the side.
Most of us will be mandated to keep working once the boomers die.

The age or retirement will be in 2021 67 years. This comes from the government website of the Netherlands.

Think most Countries are moving towards 67 as the new number. Lets face it,we will need every hand on deck due to people having less children with each generation. Baby boomers like some one mentioned here will die and it will transfer a large amount of inheritance but the price of things will still go up and up.

Your right before was it also 65 years in the Netherlands. Now they move slowly to the age of 67 they will reach that age of retirement in 2021. Not sure if all countries will higher the age of retirement because life is more expensive nowadays for the government.

Last time I checked with Social Security, I'm gonna have to work until I'm 208 before I can retire.  Then I'll be able to subsist/live the good life on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches until death

Sounds about like the average.

Here in the US is about the same, before even claiming if you are lucky for the social security if you live to that long or pass that point.

Germany was already at 67 some years ago but then moved back to 65.

But it is just a question of time that it goes up. Someone has to pay the retirement money in the end...

Has to be a better way, but then I compare the way I live to some one in a third world Country it takes the bite out of living to work. Remember how they told us do what you love and it wont feel like work?
