Found what I thought was an awesome deal on a 6970 from Microcenter
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0365501

Only $159 with a $10 rebate!

It turns out microcenter is just a bunch of morons... card is actually a 6790, available for the same price from everywhere else Sad

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

That sucks.. Contact them, make it clear that you were unethically tricked and demand a refund of the difference in price. Also, you may find it helpful to link to this thread and offering to remedy their name if they do so.

haha I didn't actually order any.  I checked the model number first and found it on amazon prime eligible for $150.  I figured something was  wrong, so I double-checked the model number and saw that MC had switched the numbers by accident.

Heh, it's like that everywhere.  Go to Google shopping and type in Radeon 5850 then sort by price.

The 10 or 20 lowest prices either don't exist or redirect to a 5770.  Cheesy arse bastards...

M'center had some crossfire cables on thier site, showed three of them. I called them and they said they had them.....

Drove an hour to get there and lo and behold there were none to be found. They said they do inventory every six months and they must have been stolen. No discount for my troubles!!

There video cards are basic. I'd be surprised if you see something above 6700 series there.

I picked up a 6970 from Fry's yesterday for only $349. I brought in a NewEgg web price and they matched it in store.  (I don't work for either of those companies, just pointing out the price I recently found)
