I am a bitcoin newbie and am just experimenting with various things at this point.  One thing I am curious about is how a lot of the wallets (bitgo, blockchain.info etc) use two factor authentication -- what happens when you change your phone number?  I am going to be traveling in about a month and wonder how I would change to phone number.

Take bitgo for example, there is no help tab, no contact info except for sales.  In bitgo I don't see where I would change the phone number.  They have an app called yubikey, but that wants you to scan a barcode which I don't understand where the barcode comes from.

actually for blockchain.info it makes sense you can change the phone number in your account.

Don't know if these wallets offer Google Authenticator as 2fa but if they do then choose that and save your key, then you don't have to worry about losing your phone or changing your phone number.

2 Factor Authentication by using Google Authentication ( Android or Ios ).You must backup your QR code so you can restore when you lost your device  Smiley

AFAIK All services with 2 factor authentication can be configured in authy or google auyhenticator. If I remember correctly, you just need to follow the steps on how you can connect it to your authenticator. You can get the code from this authenticators instead of receiving it in your mobile number so you wouldn't need to worry if you change your mobile.

you can change it just by entering the phone number in the setting menu, but if you don't want to get bother with this, you just simply use 2fa through google auth, any 2fa alternate , or even browser's addon,it's simple and useful, and for preventing any posibility of losing, take a photos of your qr code and then  print it or back up it in cloud storage which is trusted
but the main point, you just need an internet connection to get the code

I had to change the phone number linked with my Coinbase account using Authy.
The customer support is great, but you have to wait for about a week...
