guiminer issues please help!

so I have guiminer installed and running, however, it seems to be stuck when it comes to actually mining.

I have followed all of the directions in the tutorial for setting up guiminer and here is where I am stuck:

I can click "start mining" but nothing happens.  They seem to be hung up there and no other errors or notifications come up, just sits there doing nothing.
